So, it looks like Sony Studios is fishing around for a properSpider-Manreboot title, as they continue to register moreURL domain namesfor this upcoming solo adventure in collaboration with Marvel Studios and Disney. Yesterday, it was revealed that Spider-Man: Homecoming was the potential title for this resurrection of the iconic web-slinging superhero. But that’s not the only title the studios have in mind. If you have a favorite, sound off on all your social media platforms. Because it looks like Sony and Marvel are looking for some feedback from fans.
None of the four registered website domains have been officially announced for theSpider-Manmovie coming in 2017. And it’s rare that a domain registration ever gives away the actual title of a movie. Though, it did happen with Sony’s last James Bond adventureSkyfall. All of these registrations are official and link back to theSonywebsite. And they certainly give fans something to think about while we await the movie, which is still more than a year away from release.
The three other registered domain names that arrive alongside Spider-Man: Homecoming includeSpider-Man: Coming of Age,Spider-Man: Greatness AwaitsandSpider-Man: Suspended. All of the titles hint at the high school setting ofSpider-Man. But Spider-Man: Homecoming is actually a Marvel comic book story arc that featured cameos from Captain America and Iron Man. It has already been confirmed that this solo movie will bring in at least one key Marvel Studios character. The title also nicely references the fact that Spider-Man is finally coming back to his true home at Marvel.
Tom Hollandis set to be introduced asPeter Parkerin this summer’sCaptain America: Civil War. And we’ve already gotten our first look at the character thanks to a trailer that debuted earlier this year. As we saw in the trailer, Peter Parker is on Team Iron Man inCaptain America: Civil War. In the original comic book storyline upon which this sequel is based, Spidey eventually bails onTony Starkand sides up withSteve Rogers. We have no idea if this is how things will play out in the actual movie, or what it means for the Spider-Man reboot, which hits screens in 2017.
