Updated August 12, 2025: If you love Spider-Man’s fantastic suits, you’ll be happy to know we’ve updated this article with additional content surrounding both the character and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
8Homemade Suit (Spider-Man: Homecoming)
Before Peter Parker meets Tony Stark, he wears a homemade costume he designed himself. The homemade suit revealed inCaptain America: Civil Warand used inSpider-Man: Homecomingis a goofy-looking low-budget design that reflects Spider-Man’s humble origins. With that being said, the suit is very well-made considering the fact that a young high-schooler quickly designs the suit on a budget.
The suit is an important visual representation that Spider-Man does not need the resources of Iron Man to be a superhero. A cheap hoodie and goggles, however, do not make for the most visually appealing Spider-Man costume, which is why the homemade suit ranks at the bottom of the list.

7Iron Spider Suit (Avengers: Infinity War)
Teased at the end ofSpider-Man: Homecomingand later used by Peter Parker inAvengers: Infinity WarandAvengers: Endgame, the Iron Spider is featured in some of the most iconic moments of the Infinity Saga. The Iron Spider armor is the second suit given to Parker by Stark when recognizing Spider-Man as an Avenger. In-universe, the high-tech armor is incredibly efficient and advanced. However, aesthetically speaking, it is not the suit that best captures the core spirit of Spider-Man.
Iron Spider is too significant of a departure when Peter is a poor student that creates a suit for himself. Fans disapproved of the Stark suit for being too high-tech, but the Iron Spider takes it another step further. Holland does not wear a costume for the Iron Spider suit; instead, it is entirely CGI. The suit may look decent, but is too over-designed and does not use color as effectively as Holland’s other Spider-Man suits.

6Stealth Suit (Spider-Man: Far From Home)
Referred to as “Night Monkey” inSpider-Man: Far From Home, the Stealth suit is a S.H.I.E.L.D. design that Peter temporarily wears during his time in Prague and was made by Nick Fury at his request. It was intended to help prevent the connection of Spider-Man to Peter, as it would be odd if the two were in the same place at the same time. The Stealth suit is a sleek design that looks completely practical. That being said, it is not necessarily a great signature Spider-Mancostume as it intentionally avoids representing Spider-Man and holds a special place in theranking of Spider-Man’s outfits.
Given the pressure that Fury was putting on Peter to aid him, this suit could also be seen as the S.H.I.E.L.D head’s hold over Spider-Man. Peter didn’t much like the suit because it was a bit too tight. The fans didn’t care for it either. However, in the years since it was revealed, it’s become something of a favorite for its unique design. Fans do love their Spidey suits after all.

5Black and Gold Suit (Spider-Man: No Way Home)
The Black and Gold suit fromSpider-Man: No Way Homeis the second black Spider-Man suit that Holland’s Spidey wears in the MCU. The first black suit, the “Night Monkey” Stealth suit featured inSpider-Man: Far From Home, refrains from being too distinctly Spider-Man. With the Black and Gold suit, that is not the case. Visually, the Black and Gold suit is stunning, effectively blending gold into the rest of its dark palette. Looking more closely, fans can see what it really is.
In actuality, the suit is his black and red costume turned inside out. On closer inspection, wires come off the suit and electrical circuits run along Peter’s body. It looks cool when in the dark and even when Peter is on the move. Standing still it appears a lot less remarkable. Still, it makes for an interesting variation.

4Integrated Suit (Spider-Man: No Way Home)
Spider-Man: No Way Homeprominently features the new Integrated suit. This variation is a more simplistic design than the Iron Spider and implements elements of both his Upgraded suit fromFar From Homeand the Nanotechnology from Tony Stark’s gift. While it is still 100% Stark Technology, this one can be considered another one of Peter’s creations, despite technically being an accident.
While fighting Doctor Octopus, the villain ended up infused with nanobots from Peter’s suit, which Peter then used to trap him. Later, he re-reacquired the nanobots as part of his upgraded suit. Mixing the sleek material of the black and red costume with the metal armor made for a cool improvised new style. Sadly, it would be the last Stark tech suit. While some fans didn’t agree with the heavy usage of technology in Holland’sSpider-Manmovies, they have to admit they looked fantastic.

3Stark Suit (Captain America: Civil War)
Gifted to Peter Parker by Tony Stark inCaptain America: Civil War, this suit is the first traditional Spider-Man suit audiences see in the MCU. Whether it’s Holland, Garfield, or Maguire’s Spider-Man, their main suits all share the traditional Spider-Man red and blue. The Stark Suit appears in all of Spider-Man’s appearances in the MCU beforeNo Way Home, fromCivil War,Homecoming,Infinity War, andFar From Home. While not visible inAvengers: Endgame, Peter still wears it underneath the Iron Spider as the shinier suit had wrapped itself over it.
Tony was pretty generous in making this outfit, equipping the Stark Suit with a myriad of useful features, including web wings, a reconnaissance drone, combat modes, and the built-in A.I. Peter would temporarily lose this suit as punishment, but he learns not to over-rely on its many features in the process. However, that doesn’t change the fact that this suit is a marvelous piece of technology. In some ways, it’s as fun a character as Spider-Man himself.
2Upgraded Suit (Spider-Man: Far From Home)
InSpider-Man: Far From Home, Peter accepts that he will never become the next Iron Man. Peter Parker is not Tony Stark, and the simple realization of crafting your own legacy helps Peter to understand his role and responsibility as Spider-Man. Perhaps this is why the Upgraded suit isTom Holland’s favorite. Peter uses the available technology at his disposal to create an upgraded version of the Spider-Man suit. The suit is personalized for Peter’s needs and to his liking, with Peter adopting a brand new red and black color scheme.
The upgraded suit is the second Spider-Man suit that Peter designs in the MCU. Unlike the homemade suit, however, the upgraded suit represents how Parker would create a Spider-Man suit with advanced technology and resources. Additionally, the upgraded suit appears similar to the first-ever Spider-Man costume in Spider-Man’s first appearance in 1962; Steve Ditko’sAmazing Fantasy#15, making for an excellent throwback.
1Self-Made Suit (Spider-Man: No Way Home)
Peter Parker’s latest suit returns to its simple, humble beginnings by being made from material Peter was able to acquire publicly. Devoid of Stark technology, this beautiful variation returns to the classic red and blue color scheme and sees Spider-Man returning to his roots. While it may not be as flashy as mostof his outfits have been since entering the MCU, fans loved this creation in the few seconds they got to see it inNo Way Homebecause it symbolized the return to the web-slinger that fans had grown up knowing.
Having made the ultimate sacrifice of erasing himself from everyone’s memories to stop a universal collapse, Peter finds himself restarting his existence completely. However, of everything he painfully gave up, he finds himself a free man from the constraints of protecting his identity and those close to him. Peter Parker no longer exists in the world. Now Spider-man is all there is. It’s a bittersweet new lease on life, but one that birthed the Spider-Man that fans have been waiting for. And what better way to kick off a new era than with a brand-new gorgeous suit?
