We’re just one day away from the three-episode premiere ofAndorSeason 2 onDisney+, and the reviews are coming in fast for the finale of what’s undoubtedly been one of the bestStar WarsTV shows of all time. Does the conclusion live up to the expectations set by Season 1? According to Rotten Tomatoes, the answer is a resounding yes! Thus far, Season 2 has managed to surpass the score of its predecessor by two points, and is Certified Fresh with a 98% at the time of this writing.
“An important and subversive genre masterpiece about the fight for freedom,” writes Joonatan Itkonen from Toisto.net, adding: “In just twelve episodes, it recaptures the voice of the downtrodden originally set forth by George Lucas in his Vietnam allegory that wasA New Hope.” Brendan Hodges from Next Big Picture echoed those sentiments, saying in their review:

“The best art demands we look inward and then back out into the world to confront our place in the systems around us and imagine what kind of change is possible and what we’re willing to do to get it. This second season of Andor achieves that and more.”
‘Andor’ Creator Wants to Do Something New After His ‘Star Wars’ Journey, but Don’t Expect a Return to the ‘Bourne’ Franchise
With his time in the ‘Star Wars’ Franchise coming to an end, Tony Gilroy is looking to try something different, but not with a former franchise.
Allison Rose from FlickDirect has high praise for the returning cast ofAndor, saying, “Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, and Adria Arjona deliver standout performances, elevated by some of the smartest writing on television today.” MovieWeb’s own Julian Roman also had nothing but good things to sayaboutAndorSeason 2 in his review:

“Andor concludes with an astonishingly dark and brilliantly plotted second season that enthralls in every frame of its twelve superb episodes. Showrunner and writer Tony Gilroy delivers Star Wars for adults in an exceedingly mature exploration of good versus evil. Jaws will scrape the floor as his uncompromising vision, a phenomenal ensemble cast, and spectacular production design leave no stone unturned.”
‘Andor’ Is Some of the Best Storytelling in the ‘Star Wars’ Universe
WithAndorSeason 1 being praised not only for its performances from the core cast, but for its storytelling as well, it appearsas if writers Tony Gilroy, Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, and Tom Bissell haven’t let up on the gas one bit going into Season 2. As critic Liz Shannon Miller from Consequence puts it: “[Andor] has been some of the very best storytelling to ever bear theStar Warsname, and it also feels like it should be the last live-action prequel.”
“IfAndorSeason 1 set a gold standard forStar Warsstorytelling, then Season 2 has achieved an entirely new level of perfection,” added Maggie Lovitt from Collider. Alan Sepinwall from Rolling Stone was equally flattering of the show in his review, saying that it “impresses with how effectively it uses the pieces of this hugely commercial brand to directly grapple with the ways that fascism rises, and the ways it can be fought.”

Needless to say, it appears thatAndorfans are in for a treat tomorrow when the first batch of episodes make their premiere on Disney+. Three episodes will drop every Tuesday thereafter until its conclusion on May 13.
