Avengers: Endgameis hitting digital and Blu-ray at the end of this month. Both editions feature bonus material and Marvel Studios has provided a new behind-the-scenes video where the cast gets emotional talking about wrapping it all up. WhileEndgameis the culmination of eleven years-worth of storytelling within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is not the final movie in Phase 3. Instead, that honor goes toSpider-Man: Far From Home, which hits theaters tomorrow.

“It certainly was a lot of nostalgia, sort of melancholy. These people have become family, we’ve shared so many years of our lives together now,” says Chris Hemsworth when reflecting on his time with the MCU. Theoriginal Avengers crewhave spent a lot of time together over the years and they have turned into a family in real-life, with all of them going out and getting personalized tattoos to celebrate, except for Mark Ruffalo. However, that doesn’t mean he appreciates his new family any less. He had this to say about wrapping up withEndgame.

“We all made a bond that I think is really exceptional and rare, and we got to do really great stuff that the fans really loved. You know that’s kind of coming to an end, so it was always a little bittersweet, and it was always on everybody’s mind. Like I’d be in a scene with Robert (Downey Jr.) and I look over at him and we’d just be like ‘We did this.’ And that was really moving at times.”

Chris Evans posted on social mediaabout his last day on the set ofEndgamewhen it occurred. The Captain America actor was rumored for a long time to throw in the towel, but that didn’t make it any easier for MCU fans to accept when his fate was revealed on the big screen. As it turns out, the same goes for Evans. He explains.

“You anticipate it being an emotional experience, but then when they actually say, ‘Chris you’re wrapped,’ and it’s done, it’s like that graduation day: You know it’s coming, but then when it hits you can’t prepare for it. It was more emotional than I expected.”

Endgameis an emotional rollercoaster for fans and it was the same way for the cast of the epic movie while they were making it. The behind-the-scenes preview video sets an emotional tone as the cast reflects upon all of the blood, sweat, and tears they all put into making the MCU a reality over the years. With that being said, not everybody is ready to throw in the towel just yet.

It’s unclear ifMark Ruffalo’s Smart Hulkwill be back on the big screen in the future, but Chris Hemsworth has said he would love to return to play Thor at some point in the future. Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff didn’t make it out ofEndgamealive, but the actress is already in Easter Europe shooting the standaloneBlack Widowmovie. Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is expected to make his return in a Disney+ series. There will be more of the Avengers down the line, but it might be what we’re all expecting.
