The Doom That Came To Gotham Will Be the First Batman Movie Since Kevin Conroy’s Passing

David Giuntoli has big shoes to fill sinceBatman: The Doom That Came To Gothamwill be the first Batmanmovie released since Kevin Conroypassed away last month. Conroy is widely considered the best Batmanvoice actor of all time, and some say he was the best actor to ever portray the vigilante, regardless of medium. Conroy nailed the gruff, brooding nature of Bruce Wayne, while also displaying his softer, more sensitive side, in addition to the suave, charismatic facade that Wayne puts on in public. His last role as Batman was inJustice League vs. The Fatal Fivein 2019. Conroy initially gained fame when he voiced the character inBatman: The Animated Seriesin the 1990s, a role that has defined the caped crusader ever since.

Batman is a complex and varied role, one that’s been taken on by dozens of voice actors. This isn’t Giuntoli’s first stint as Batman, having taken the lead role in 2021’sBatman: Soul of the Dragon, which received positive reviews. However, it’ll be his first role since Conroy’s passing, so Batman fans will be saddened but eager to watch a new generation of actors fully pick up the mantle of the World’s Greatest Detective.
