Though, like every streamer, some contracts are expiring for Hulu, and so a few films are going to be bidding farewell this July.

Leaving on the eleventh will bePuss in BootsandShrek Forever After, both spinoffs of DreamWork’s iconic filmShrek, following Puss in Boots on his first solo adventure and Shrek on his last journey, respectively. Then on the last day of July, the thirty-first, we’ll see an exodus of great movies, includingThe Hunger Games, where kids kill each other for a TV show, withPokémon Detective Pikachu, where a son tries to find his missing father with his furry ‘n’ funny Pokémon, as well asShrek 1andShrek 2, where the titular ogre learns to be nice (most of the time). Shrek Forever After - July 11

The fourth and final film in theShrekseries is leaving on July 11, where Shrek (Mike Myers) is tired of being the hero of Far Far Away and head of a family, and wishes himself back to the days when he was a simple ogre by himself in the swamp.

His wish is granted by Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn), and Shrek finds everything back to the way it was when we first met him: alone, feared, and happy. However, his wife Fiona (Cameron Diaz) is on the run from Rumpel, now king of Far Far Away, and Shrek learns he will cease to exist at the end of the day unless he can reset everything with true love’s kiss.

Puss in Boots - July 11

AShrekspinoff is also leaving on July 11,Puss in Boots,following the titular fairy-tale Spaniard feline, Puss (Antonio Banderas), who is on the run from the law and seeking to restore his honor. After teaming up with his old partner in crime, Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek), they travel to steal the Golden Goose before the murderous outlaw couple Jack and Jill (Billy Thornton and Amy Sedaris) seize the golden gosling for themselves.

The spinoff received a very popular sequel last year,Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which has been hailed as a spectacular animated film and shows that littlePuss is close to outgrowing big Shrek.

In the young adult book adaptation conquest of the screen, beforeThe Hunger GamescameTwilight. Based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels of the same name, all five films of theTwilightsaga are leaving on July 16, which explores the relationship between two teens, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), but she’s a normal high-school girl, and he’s an immortal vampire.

They’re both misfits, she’s the new girl, and he’s the vampire who doesn’t drink blood, so of course, they get married and have kids later, and then werewolves get thrown in the mix, and it just kind of goes on from there.Twilightcan serve as an exciting romance with a stunning cast that stays true to the books that are young adult classics, so catch them before they fly into the night.

The Hunger Games Saga - July 31

Despite coming afterTwilight,The Hunger Gamesis the name of the game in the world of young adult novel adaptations as a defining franchise of the young generation, and just like their famous rival,The Hunger Gamessagais also leaving on July 31. Based on Suzanne Collins' novel of the same name, the annual Hunger Games has featured the slaughter of young children by other kids in a spectacle for the ruling class in the Capitol of Panem for most of a century under the iron rule of the tyrannical President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

Yet everything begins to change when the poor hunter-gatherer Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers for the Games to save her younger sister from a certain and painful death in the arena. Katniss teams up with the other tribute from her district Peeta Mallark (Josh Hutcherson), to survive until the end of the Games, where the last kid standing wins.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu - July 31

Leaving July 31, the third highest-grossing video-game film and the first live-action film based on the popular series,Pokémon Detective Pikachufollows Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), who heads to his estranged father’s apartment to clean up after his father’s death. There he finds his father’s Pokémon partner Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds), whom only Tim can understand. Pikachu believes Tim’s father is alive, and they join forces to unravel a tangled mystery.

A fun mystery adventure, the film isreceiving a sequel, greenlighted very quickly after the first film’s success, guesstimated for around 2025.

Shrek 1 and 2 - July 31

July will be the month forShrekfans to catch up on Hulu, as bothShrekandShrek 2are also leaving on July 31. The first two films following the mean, green titular are considered the best in the series, the original winning two Oscars and remaining popular after decades for flipping over all the traditional fairy tales on their heads, where the monster becomes the hero in a well-written comedy filled with good morals and great laughs.
