We have our first look at the final season ofBetter Call Saulalong with a possible premiere date on AMC. It’s long been rumored that the sixth and final season of theBreaking Badspinoff would be arriving in the earlier months of 2022. AMC has now released some new footage teasing the upcoming season with Marco and Leonel Salamanca arriving after the bloodbath at their family compound seen at the end of season 5. You can watch the teaser below, courtesy ofAMC.
The teaser oddly says to “mark your calendars,” but it doesn’t explicitly reveal a release date. Some fans believe they’ve figured it out by noting the crime scene markers clearly shown in the clip, which could be a subtle way of revealing when the series will return. On the left side of the screen is the letter “D” with an “R” shown to the right. D is the fourth letter of the alphabet while R is the 18th, leading some fans to wonder if April 18th is whenBetter Call Saulis back. This would make sense as it’s in line with when the show is expected to premiere, and April 18th just so happens to be a Monday, when AMC typically airs the show.

Previously, the network announced thatBetter Call Saulwould end with the upcoming sixth season. This is unfortunate for fans unhappy to see the series come to an end but the good news is that the final season is 13 episodes long, up three more from the usual ten seen in past seasons. It’s also one season longer than its parent series,Breaking Bad, which wrapped up after a five-season run on AMC.

All good things must come to an end, andBetter Call Saulis no exception. The series has only gotten better with each passing season, and if that trend continues, the sixth and final season will be the strongest of them all. That’s possible because all of the storylines that will have to be wrapped up in season 6.Better Call Saulneeds to not only finish bridging the gap to whereBreaking Badbegins, but also reveal what ultimately ends up happening with Saul Goodman, aka Jimmy McGill, in the present day timeline where he’s been discovered while living under a new identity.
While this is a prequel, there are a lot of questions that remain about the characters featured inBetter Call Saul. Rhea Seehorn’s Kim Wexler, Tony Dalton’s Lalo Salamanca, and Michael Mando’s Narcho Varga are particularly interesting because each of their fates is still in the air and it’s unclear if they’ll survive the events ofBetter Call Saulseason 6. In any case, all will be revealed soon enough. Just be warned that Seehorn teases thatthe final season is “devastating.”
If the online sleuths are accurate,Better Call Saulwill return on April 18.
