There’s a new sheriff in town when the world ofJohn Wickreturns inJohn Wick: Chapter 4, according to starBill Skarsgård. Speaking withTotal Film, Skarsgård revealed a few more details regarding his mysterious new character, The Marquis de Gramont, including that he wants to rid of world of Wick once and for all. No doubt Baba Yaga will have something to say about that.
“The Marquis is a young man of unknown origin who has quickly climbed the ladder within the High Table doing god knows what. I always saw him as someone from the gutter that now savors the glittery suits he’s wearing. He functions as the new sheriff set out to rid the world of John Wick once and for all.”
Of course, Skarsgård will not be the first to attempt to wipe John Wick off the map.And we all know what happened to everyone else who tried such a thing. According toJohn Wick: Chapter 4director Chad Stahelski,it is The Marquis who has been tasked with cleaning up all the messes from the first three movies.”Which, considering the bloody path of bodies left in Wick’s wake, will be no easy feat.
But, while The Marquis is set on killing John Wick, it won’t be so simple for the dog-loving hitman to stop him, with Stahelski revealing a few more of the rules that keep this league of assassins in line.
“You have to earn the right to duel. Back in the day of medieval duels, you couldn’t duel outside of your class, that’s how they use power to manipulate. I thought that was a fascinating idea to mess with, a way to show a different class within our world.”
