Because the movie gods are kind and we have all been good this year, the universe is finally giving us another Bill and Ted movie starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. This third film is calledBill & Ted Face the Musicand is directed byGalaxy Questfilmmaker Dean Parisot. Today we have a teaser to share with you guys. It doesn’t feature Bill, nor Ted, nor any actual footage from the film, but it does let us know that the movie will be unleashed upon the world in just nine short months.
The teaser is short and to the point, with no actual footage. I dig it. Clean, simple and… teasing a tiny new addition to the Bill and Ted crew? Maybe. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see in nine months - and 69 dudes - from now.Bill & Ted Face the Music wrapped in August. But it may be a few more months before we see any actual footage.
Now for those fewBill & Ted’s Excellent AdventureandBill & Ted’s Bogus Journeyfans out there that may have missed the reference, the 69 Dudes part of this teaser comes from a moment early on inBill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, outside the Circle K, when they first meet their other selves. Ted asks these future versions of themselves, ‘What number are we thinking of?’ And in unison, the future Bill and Ted belt out, ‘69 dudes!’
This is one of the most quoted scenes from the original Bill and Ted movie, and you still have to love it. Though my favorite flick of the pair has to beBill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. Wait, you say,Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journeyis my favorite of the two films? Yes. Why? Two words. William Sadler. Not good enough? Here’s two more. As Death. Yes,Bill Sadler’s performance as DeathinBill & Ted’s Bogus Journeyis one of my favorite comedic performances of all-time. That game of Twister KILLED me as a kid.
And speaking of William Sadler’s Death, he will be returning along withKeanu Reeves and Alex WinterinBill & Ted Face the Musicnine months from now. Joining them will be Brigette Lundy-Paine as Ted’s daughter Billie Logan, Samara Weaving as Bill’s daughter Thea Preston, Hal Landon Jr. as Ted’s father, Amy Stoch as Bill’s step-mother, Jayma Mays as Princess Joanna Preston, Erinn Hayes as Princess Elizabeth Logan, Beck Bennett as Ted’s younger brother, Holland Taylor as The Great Leader, and Kristen Schaal as (basically) new Rufus.Kid Cudiis tossed in there as well for good measure along with Anthony Carrigan as an antagonist.
Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) from a script written by originalBill and Tedwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon,Bill & Ted Face the Musicwill be released by Orion Pictures on August 01, 2025. In the meantime, this teaser comes to us from the Bill & Ted official Twitter account. You can check out some of the other tweets in recent days.
