New character posters have just been released for the anticipated sequelBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever. Set to hit theaters next month, the film serves as a follow-up toBlack Panther. Its cast of characters are on display in the new series of posters, highlighting a mix of returning and new stars that will be featured in the film.
The posters include artwork for Letitia Wright (Shuri), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Florence Kasumba (Ayo), Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams), Michaela Coel (Aneka), Mabel Cadena (Namora), Alex Livinalli (Attuma), Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), and Angela Bassett (Queen Ramonda).
In the film, “Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. When Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, alerts them to a global threat and his disturbing plan to thwart it, the Wakandans band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.”

Black Panther 2 Will Honor Chadwick Boseman
Marvel Studios and Disney have also released a new featurette for the film ahead of its release. The featurette provides another sneak peek at the sequel and how it honors Chadwick Boseman. You can watch that video below.
Ryan Coogler directsBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverusing a screenplay co-written with Joe Robert Cole. Kevin Feige and Nate Moore produced. Originally, the plan for the sequel was for Boseman to return as T’Challa. Following Boseman’s death in 2020, Coogler was so heartbroken thathe had considered walking away from filmmakingbefore later deciding to honor Boseman and T’Challa withWakanda Forever.
“I was at a point when I was like, ‘I’m walking away from this business,” Coogler recently toldEntertainment Weekly. “I didn’t know if I could make another movie period, [let alone] anotherBlack Panthermovie, because it hurt a lot. I was like, ‘Man, how could I open myself up to feeling like this again?'”
He added, “I was poring over a lot of our conversations that we had, towards what I realized was the end of his life… I decided that it made more sense to keep going.”
Others involved with the film have also teased that the sequel serves asa “love letter” to Boseman. Letitia Wright told Jimmy Fallon that this was how it felt when shooting the movie in an interview onThe Tonight Showlast month.
“Close I feel, for me, it’s a beautiful contribution to Chadwick’s legacy,” she said. “I feel like it’s a love letter to him. I know every day that I went on set, I focused my energy on – on each scene to dedicate it to him. I wanted to dedicate excellence to this film so that he could be proud.”
