Namor the Submariner poses a great threat to the nation of Wakanda in a new TV spot for the upcoming MCU sequel,Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Released courtesy ofMarvel Entertainment, the spot features a whole host of new footage from the highly anticipated comic book movie outing. “Without the Black Panther, Wakanda will fall,” declares Namor in the footage. Amid these vocal threats from the underwater ruler, the footage reveals just how formidable the character will be when he makes his live-action debut. Wakandan weaponry breaks against his skin and the nation’s greatest heroes look on in terror as Namor wages war.With T’Challa gone, someone else will need to take up the mantle of the Black Panther, with this latest footage providing our biggest clue yet regarding who that someone will be.

Will Shuri Become the New Black Panther?

So, it is certainly looking more and more like it will indeed be Letitia Wright’s character Shuri who will suit up as the Black Panther inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever. While Shuri has been a heavy favorite for some time,the cast of the MCU sequel have claimed that fans “haven’t guessed it at all.”Well, it looks like they may have simply been trying to put people off the most obvious scent, as this latest footage finds the new Black Panther leaping into the air and making use of the same arm cannons that we have seen Shuri use before.

Of course, while Shuri is now looking like the most obvious choice, we cannot rule out any last-minute twists and surprises.

For what it’s worth,Letitia Wright has stated that becoming Black Panther is something that she has been looking forward to since first being cast. “That’s a tricky question to answer,” the actress said recently when asked if it would be Shuri under the mask. “I had a chat about it with Ryan and Chad when we were making Black Panther, and we touched on it briefly. When I realized I was playing Shuri, it was something that I really looked forward to.”
