X-Men ‘97Season 1 showrunner Beau DeMayo has shared his idea for aLogan-styleBlademovie for Wesley Snipes. While Marvel Studios is currently hard at work rebootingBladewith Maherasha Ali set to play the Daywalker in the MCU, fans have welcomed the return of originalBladeactor Wesley Snipes following his return inDeadpool & Wolverine.Ryan Reynolds recently suggested that he wants to see Snipes return as Bladeone more time for a final send-off film after his franchise was cut short following 2004’sBlade Trinity, giving the hero anOld Man Logan-style send-off.
Deadpool & Wolverine
A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
One person who agrees with Reynolds isX-Men ‘97creator Beau DeMayo. DeMayo took toX/Twitter, to share his idea about what he would want to see from a Wesley Snipes-ledBlade 4. DeMayo’s pitch involves a vampire apocalypse where a human resistance, which includes the hero Brother Voodoo, resurrects Blade with the plan to wipe out all vampires. DeMayo cited legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa as the kind of director whose influence should be seen such a movie.

DeMayo’s History with Blade
What is interesting about DeMayo’s pitch is that he was, at one point, attached to write the MCUBladereboot for Marvel Studios. DeMayo is now best known as the creator and head writer ofX-Men ‘97Season 1. The series received rave reviews from fans and critics alike, with many calling it one of the best Marvel projects ever made. This is why fans are still wondering what happened between DeMayo and Marvel Studios that led to him beingfired fromX-Men ‘97just a day before the series world premiereand two weeks before it aired on Disney+. DeMayo wrote the scripts forX-Men ‘97Season 2 but is not overseeing its development or the recently announced Season 3.
Blade Star Wesley Snipes Reveals Status of Infamous Feud With Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds
The Blade star reveals where things stand with his Blade: Trinity co-star, and discusses Mahershala Ali’s MCU Blade reboot.
DeMayo’s pitch for a Wesley SnipesLogan-inspiredBlade 4movie has a lot in common with the original pitch forBlade: Trinity. David S. Goyer originally planned forBlade: Trinityto take place in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires were in control, inspired by the novelI Am Legend. The story would have seen Blade, who ages slower due to being half-vampire, navigate a world run by vampires after they released a virus that caused the sun to only come out for two hours. The idea was scrapped for budgetary reasons, along with the filmmakers believing Blade worked better in a contemporary setting and feared the post-apocalyptic timeline would be too different from whataudiences were used to followingBladeandBlade II.

There are no plans for a fourth Wesley Snipes-ledBlademovie, as most focus is now on getting theMCU reboot back on track. However, Snipes could return as Blade, along with several other “lost” characters inAvengers: Secret Wars. However, it is possible that the Fox Universe send off inDeadpool & Wolverine, could well be the final curtain call for characters such as Snipes’ Blade.
