With the trendof Indian filmsbased on Hindu mythology, it is difficult to get them noticed overseas. However, apart from earlier worldwide hits such asBahubali,RRR, andKGF,Brahmastra, a visually striking Indian film, proved otherwise. Despite having an underdeveloped love story,Brahmastrais more of an action-fueled film with impressive cinematography throughout, as highlighted inVariety’s review.

The story pits Shiva against a group of fearsome and relentless villains who hunt for Astras, which appear to be relics that can transform ordinary people into superhumans. He finds the love of his life and is led to the Ancient Sanctuary of Sages, which safeguards the many Astras, such as Pawanastra, Prabhastra, Vayuvyastra, and others. Regardless of its flaws, a few moments inBrahmastra Part One: Shivais worth remembering.

As the camera zooms in, we learn about the Himalayas, where a group of great sages meditated and received the Astras from a light ray that emanated from the sky. The entire thing is sobeautifully animated, and it explains each Astra’s abilities in such a brief amount of time. Furthermore, it gives you an impression of whether the film would have been better if it had been animated rather than live-action with actors.

Cameo by Shah Rukh Khan As Vanarastra’s Wielder

Shah Rukh Khan, branded the “Baadshah of Bollywood,” is one of the most successful actors, appearing in over 80 films. With his playful dialogue delivery, his cameo elevated the experience of the action sequence. The entire confrontation was brilliantly orchestrated, with slow-motion shots in between to give us a closer look at the visuals. Although it was just for a short period, viewers had a wonderful timewatching Shah Rukh Khanportray such an electrifying role.

The Battle Against Junoon

Junoon is oblivious to Shiva’s power and how he is the holder of Agneyastra until the film’s last hour. Taking full advantage of the situation, Shiva approaches Junoon while freeing all his imprisoned companions and launches an unprecedented attack on them. While he is still inexperienced at controlling Agneyastra, he puts up an incredible fight by trying to hold on until everyone gathers.

However, the brainwashed men’s persistent use of firearms makes it difficult for him to fight. Although he draws enormous power from the Agnyestra by turning the approaching bullets into Ashes, Junoon makes a comeback with Jalastra, which belongs to Shiva’s mother. While stunning visuals of fire mask the entire sequence, they exhibit every Astra’s abilities to varying degrees.

Relentless Car Chase with Raftaar

The chase soon after Anish carves a path for Shiva and Isha is the most thrilling moment in the film. Raftaar appears just as the main leads are about to take a breather from the unrelenting chase, creating an even more deadly impression than Junoon and Zor combined.

Raftaar becomes considerably more dangerous after obtaining Vanarastra by killing Shah Rukh Khan’s Mohan Bhargav, and how he holds onto a running car with only one hand clutching the door demonstrates how strong-willed he is. While the chase scene’s choreography is impressive on its own, the background score lends a lot of weight to it. Despite the film’s flaws in many areas, this moment steals the show for the duration.

Pre-Interval Banger with Nandi Astra’s True Power

The pre-intermission scene was a stunner, with both intensity and visual appeal. When Shiva flees Varanasi after alerting Anish Shetty, the guardian of Nandi Astra, Junoon, and Zor track him down. The scene starts off strong, with Anish chanting the mantra before activating his Nandi Astra and his voice sounding deeper with echoes. He successfully stops the truck after confronting it head-on; nonetheless, despite being gravely injured previously, he continues to push himself to exterminate the opponents. Aside from a noble sacrifice, the scenario demonstrates an Astra wielder’s willpower.

The Awakening of Dev

The film’s climax reveals many things, notably Shiva’s love for Isha, which drives him to the point of sacrificing himself to protect her. He overcomes Brahmastra’s might through sheer willpower and saves the world from destruction. However, after the post-credit sequence, they made the huge announcement befitting the Astraverse trilogy. Dev, who has been haunting Shiva and the Sages Society from the beginning, emerges from his seal.

Junoon’s activation of the Brahmastra by placing all the pieces together triggered Dev’s awakening. Previously, as Guru spoke aboutthe epic battlebetween the Sages of the Secret Society and Dev, Amrita saves the day by sealing him on the submerged island using Jalastra’s power. Dev is officially back with the shocking reveal at the film’s end. The glorious appearance of Dev, wielding both Jalastra and Kavachaastra, elevates the scene above all others in the film.
