The groovy one,Bruce Campbell, has revealed a new look atEvil Dead Rise. Serving as the fifth installment of theEvil Deadmovie series, the film does not feature Campbell’s Ash Williams as the protagonist, as was the case with the Fede Alvarez-directed reboot released in 2013. ForEvil Dead Rise, which is written and directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground), a new cast of characters will similarly be introduced. After previously sharing a look at one of the movies Deadites in a new image, Campbell has now shared another photo that reveals a peek at the new characters. You can see the image below, which was posted by Campbell to Twitter.

Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland lead the new cast ofEvil Dead Riseas two sisters holed up in a high-rise apartment building in Los Angeles that is suddenly besieged by Deadites. The film also stars Ali Asghar Shah, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Mia Challis, Tai Wano, Jayden Daniels, and Billy Reynolds-McCarthy. While Campbell is executive producing, he isn’t expected to appear in the movie as Ash afterretiring from playing the characterin any live-action projects.

Things appear to be looking good for fans when it comes toEvil Dead Rise. Originally, the film was set to be released on HBO Max, but after positive test screenings, plans were changed to give the horror flick anexclusive release in movie theaters. Campbell previously touted the praise the film was drawing with its early screenings.

“We just had a preview that went… That was very high ratings,” Campbell said in July, viaJoBlo. “They were potentially going to stream it on HBO Max, but it might go theatrical. Maybe in the fall.”

We now know that the film did indeed get switched for a theatrical release, and while the fall was too soon, a release date has also been revealed for the coming spring. Officially,Evil Dead Risewill be heading to movie theaters on August 13, 2025.
