Bryan Cranston Has Stated He Will Take a Break From Acting
Having now enjoyed the major career boost that his leading role inBreaking Badhas given him, a boost that has led to roles in the likes ofArgo, Godzilla, Isle of Dogs, Power Rangers, and more, as well as earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in 2015’sTrumbo, Cranston recently revealed that he plans totake a break from actingsoon. “I want to change the paradigm once again,” Cranston said. “For the last 24 years, Robin has led her life holding onto my tail. She’s been the plus one, she’s been the wife of a celebrity. She’s had to pivot and adjust her life based on mine. She has tremendous benefit from it, but we’re uneven. I want to level that out. She deserves it.”
While this led many to believe that Cranston planned to retire, he has now clarifiedthat it will simply be a pause. And it won’t happen until 2026. “What I am going to do is hit the pause button for a year after I reach my 70th birthday in 2026. Holy crap - 70!” he explained. “I’m not even sure what ‘pausing’ means entirely, but at this moment, I think it means that by taking a year off it will provide several things.”
