It’s been a long wait, but we now finally know when exactly season 3 of theCastlevaniaanimated series will be premiering on Netflix. Promising that this time there’s “more mystery, murder, mayhem, and vampires than ever,” Netflix has confirmed that season 3 will begin streaming on the service starting on March 5. TheCastlevaniaseries is written by Warren Ellis and was brought toNetflixby Adi Shankar in 2017. It follows monster hunter Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) as he battles the undead forces of the vampire Count Dracula (Graham McTavish) with the help of magician Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) and Dracula’s son Alucard (James Callis). Using heavy inspiration from the video game series for its story elements, the show’s artwork is also reminiscent ofCastlevania: Symphony of the Night, one of the most popular installments of the franchise.
By all accounts,Castlevaniaseason 2 ended up even better than the first. Compared to season 1’s 80% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, season 2 was a flawless hit with critics, earning a perfect 100% Fresh score. Of course, Netflix noticed the positive reception, officially renewingCastlevaniafor a third season just days after the premiere of season 2. AndCastlevania collectibleswere also announced. The show’s third season will also be the longest yet for the Netflix Original, as the streamer has bumped up the episode count again to make season 3 consist of ten episodes.
