Ryan Murphy promises that theCovenwitches will return toAmerican Horror Story. Last season’s Apocalypse featured the return of Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Stevie Nicks as herself, Lily Rabe as Misty Day, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Taissa Farmiga as Zoe Benson, Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie, and Frances Conroy as Myrtle Snow, along with some new additions. Though it was originally thought that the witches would only play a small part, they ended up in most of the episodes.
While talking to reporters during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Ryan Murphy let it slip that theCovenwitches are going to be back in a future season ofAmerican Horror Story. “The witches will be back”, Murphy said, and then added, “Not next season, but we have something really fun planned.“American Horror StorySeason 9 won’t feature the return of the witches, so perhaps Season 10? This leaves fans wanting to know what Murphy means by “fun” for next season.
As for the fun stuff that Ryan Murphy has planned forAmerican Horror StorySeason 9, the creator isn’t ready to share that idea yet. That makes sense, especially considering thatSeason 8 just concluded last month. However, it’s going to have to be something pretty awesome to compare with what they pulled off last season. Murphy had this to say.
“I can’t say what it is! I’m going to this luncheon, and many of theHorror Story actorsare there, and I’m gonna tell them for the first time. So I have to tell them first.”
WhateverRyan Murphyhas planned forAmerican Horror StorySeason 9, it has to be a pretty recent idea since the cast was only told about it yesterday. But that begs an even different question, which is: who will be starring this time? Obviously, there will be some regulars, but who will they be, and what will the story be about this time around? Murphy has a while to go before production starts, but hopefully we get some teases soon, possibly after the new year. Casting will have to be nailed down soon, so more information may find its way online in the coming months.
After the conclusion ofAmerican Horror StorySeason 9, it’s definitely possible for theCoven witchesto return at some point, albeit in a weird timeline that has been set up. Maybe the witches will be able to go on to hunt other places in the history of the series, which would be pretty cool. While the witches won’t be returning next season,American Horror Storyhas been renewed through Season 10, which is more than likely when the Coven will return.
