Danielle Radcliffeis currently starring on Broadway in the musical hitMerrily We Roll Along, and the actor recently opened up about whichHarry Potternovelhe’s looking forward to seeing the upcoming Max series adapt for television. Radcliffe appeared as the titular wizard in the original franchise, which began in 2001 withHarry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and concluded in 2011 withHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The series based on the novels by J.K. Rowlingwould serve to launch his career, as well as the careers of fellow co-stars Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

Speaking to the pressfollowing his first Tony Award win for his role inMerrily We Roll Along(viaPeople), Radcliffe was asked about which book in theHarry Potterseries he’s most looking forward to seeing adapted for the small screen. The 34-year-old English actor revealedhe has a love for the final novelin J.K. Rowling’s series,Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is whyit’s the one he’s anticipating the most, though he does point out that it will be a while before we see it come to life once more. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

A reboot of theHarry Potterfranchise was announced to be in development by Warner Bros. Discoveryfor its streaming platform Max in April 2023, and the studiorecently set a premiere date of 2026. The series willbring the franchise to the small screen for the first time, with an all-new cast of charactersin a version that is said to be more faithful to the original booksthan the films were. As of now, no casting news has been announced since the project is still in its infancy,with writers currently auditioning for the gig.

Will Daniel Radcliffe Be in the New Harry Potter Series?

There’s little info on the newHarry Potterseries at the moment, but it has been reported thatit will run on Max for “10 consecutive years,”meaning we’ll probably see the storylines from multiple booksstretch out over the course of a season or two. Whilesome fans thought that perhapsFantastic Beastswould somehow play a part in the series to pad it out over those 10 years, WBD confirmed at the time of the announcementthat storylines from that series would not be featured in the newHarry Potter.

Harry Potter TV Reboot Casting Will Be Huge Challenge, says Warner Bros. Exec

The Harry Potter TV show may only be in early development, but it is clear to Warner Bros. that there are many challenges coming.

While casting at this point is a non-issueuntil the series can nail down its creators, Daniel Radcliffe has addressedthe possibility of appearing in the newHarry Potter series, the chances of which he says are very little at this point due to WBDwanting the new series to separate itself from its predecessor. Rightfully so, as the appearance of Radcliffe, who is synonymous withHarry Potter, would onlytake away from the vision they’re trying to create with the new show.
