Just a day after learning that Tom Welling was finally confirmed to appear in The CW’s upcomingArrowVersecrossover,Crisis on Infinite Earths, we have another name to add to the list. HisSmallvilleco-star Erica Durance will be returning as Lois Lane for the highly anticipated event.

The actress is expected to guest star in multiple episodes for what will be her and Welling’s first on-screen reunion since the popular WB series ended almost a decade ago. As of right now, the newest Lois Lane played by Elizabeth Tulloch is the only other feisty Daily Planet reporter expected to appear, so they will be outnumbered. Tulloch’s counterpart, Tyler Hoechlin (Supergirl), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Welling are all expected to don the red cape in the event. Considering ArrowVerse heads Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg are determined to makeCrisis on Infinite Earthsthe biggest event in comic book television history, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Teri Hatcher (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) makes her way to the headlines next.

Although fans are thrilled to hearErica Durance’s portrayal of Lois Lanewill grace the screens once again, this won’t be the first time they’ve seen her in the world of DC sinceSmallville. Durance appeared inSupergirlas Kara’s mother Alura Zor-El/Noel Neill.

Outside the realm of superheroes, Durance has remained in the zeitgeist with roles in the television seriesSaving Hopeas well asCharlie’s Angles,PainkillersandTim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.

Other than the Kent-Lane family,Crisishas been scooping up DC legends all year. Along with the dozen or so core cast of CW characters, Batman will appear in the form of Burt Ward andKevin Conroy, Jon Cryer (Supergirl) will reprise his role as Lex Luthor, the versatile Tom Cavanagh will play Pariah,Black Lightening’sCress Williams will make his ArrowVerse debut as well, and LaMonica Garrett will of course return as the Anti-Monitor.

Although each announcement heightens our excitement for the event, their presence on screen is likely to decrease with each addition. The event will take place over the course of five shows, one of which (Batwoman) will be in its infant season and another (Arrow) in its final, meaning there is not much story real estate to dedicate to the guest stars. Although it is likely some fan-favorites will receive their dues, others may only be on screen for a brief moment. Either way, we are here for it!

TheCrisis on Infinite Earthscrossover will begin on Sunday, December 8 withSupergirl. It will continue the following day, Monday, December 9, onBatwoman. The Flashwill pick up the story on Tuesday, December 10. Then, we will be forced to wait until after the winter hiatus when the event continues onArrowon Tuesday, January 14.Crisiswill conclude followingArrowwithDC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
