Last weekend, the first season ofAsh Vs. Evil Deadwrapped up in grand fashion with the season finaleThe Dark One. Starz has alreadyrenewedthe hit series forSeason 2, but we don’t know how many episodes it will consist of, or when the new season may debut. Some fans may be revisiting this season to pass the time beforeSeason 2arrives, and as it turns out, there is quite a unique Easter Egg in the season finale. AReddituser posted a screengrab earlier this week from a scene in the finale, which appears to show the glove of another horror icon, Freddy Krueger.
The glove is spotted when Ash (Bruce Campbell) first walks into cabin the basement inThe Dark One, where a singular and very familiar glove is seen hanging from the wall. While this glove doesn’t featureFreddy Krueger’s iconic blades, it’s clearly an homage toWes Craven’sA Nightmare on Elm Streetfranchise. This is actually just the latest in a long line of Easter Eggs planted by originalThe Evil DeaddirectorSam Raimiand the lateWes Craven.

InSam Raimi’s original 1981 classicThe Evil Dead, one scene featured a poster forWes Craven’s directorial debutThe Hills Have Eyesin the background.Wes Cravencountered with a scene in 1984’sA Nightmare on Elm Streetwhere Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) was trying to stay awake, so she watchedThe Evil Dead. InEvil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn,Sam Raimiincluded a shot of the full Freddy Krueger glove, with the blades.Wes Cravenalso included footage fromThe Evil Deadin the originalScream.
It’s possible that the inclusion of this iconic glove could be a final homage toWes Craven, whopassed awayin August. NeitherBruce CampbellnorSam Raimihave commented on this Easter Egg quite yet, so we’ll have to wait and see what they have to say. It remains to be seen if the filmmakers plan on using any otherWes CravenEaster Eggs in the second season.

Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert andBruce Campbellwill return for the second season with executive producer and showrunner Craig DiGregorio.Campbellwill continue in his role as Ash Williams, the aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter.Lucy Lawless(Salem,Spartacus) is also returning as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks. Take a look at the photo of this unique Easter Egg below, along with a shot fromEvil Dead 2: Dead by Dawnfeaturing a similar Freddy Kruger glove.
