Prime Video’sThe Boysuniverse is home to some pretty cool, although narcissistic, superheroes. Putting their homicidal, self-righteous, and evil tendencies aside, the likes of Homelander, A-Train, Black Noir, or Starlight, among many others, are just a few of the coolest superheroes on the show. But what defines cool? When thinking ofThe Boys, surely the last thought that comes to mind is how cool or admirable a character is. Well, by combining a character’s powers, aesthetics, personality, and morals, we can easily determine the coolest characters inThe Boysuniverse.
Now, with the recent release ofGen V, a fantastic spin-off series set inThe Boysuniverse, audiences have been introduced to a brand-new cast of superheroes. Set on the college campus of Godolkin University,Gen Vfollows a team of young adolescent superheroes as they uncover a terrifying secret that lies beneath the grounds of Godolkin University. With the likes of Marie Moreau, Cate Dunlap, Emma Meyer, and Sam Riordan,Gen Vhas introduced some of the most powerful characters in the entire universe. So, without further ado, here are the coolest new supes introduced inGen V.

As a minor antagonist in the show, very little is currently known about Rufus, other than the fact that he is a selfish, arrogant, adolescent supe. Someone who fits right into this universe. As a powerful telepath, Rufus has the ability to control the minds of others at close range. On top of his telepathic abilities, Rufus tells Marie Moreau that he’s also a clairvoyant with the ability to astral project.
Why Rufus Makes the List
By no means should anyone look up to Rufus as a superhero role model. However, it’s his awesome abilities that elevate him into being a pretty cool character. Being able to control the minds of others is an ability that everyone wishes they had. As is the ability to see into the future, and astral project. Whilehis powers aren’t at the same levelof Cate Dunlap’s, his unique abilities still grant him one hell of an advantage on the battlefield.
9Tek Knight
A similarly detestable character, Tek Knight is an actor, detective, and celebrity host of the Vought+ true-crime series,The Whole Truth. He is another selfish character driven by discovering the truth, no matter whose lives he ruins with the secrets he reveals. As a sufferer of Paraphilia, a condition that causes sufferers to have an intense sexual compulsion towards any object with a hole in it, Tek Knight derives his superpowers from his enhanced senses and deduction. He can sense when a person is lying, through a person’s elevated adrenaline, sweat, and breath.
Why Tek Knight Makes the List
If you take Tek Knight’s abilities from him, he is a character none of us look up to, or wish to be. But thanks to his incredibly cool abilities, which make him as good of adetective as Batman, and Sherlock Holmes, Tek Knight is an awesome and unique character inThe Boysuniverse. The ability to tell if a person is lying, and being able to quickly deduce the truth thanks to heightened senses, are both fantastic and powerful abilities to possess. Sure, in combat, he is pretty useless, but when attempting to solve a murder, a theft, or even when asking for someone’s honest opinion, this ability instantly makes Tek Knight a really cool character, despite his many flaws.
The 20 Best Private Detective Movies of All Time
From Poirot to Marlowe, to Sam Spade and everyone in between, these are the 20 best private detective movies of all time.
8Samuel Schect / Maverick
While Maverick is another character we still know very little about, thanks to the show’s awesome finale, it’s now confirmed that Maverick is Translucent’s biological son. But despite having the same ability to turn invisible, Maverick is nothing like his father. He’s kind, caring, and not a pervert.
Why Maverick Makes the List
Sure, the ability to turn invisible is very cool, allowing you to sneak into places you’re not allowed, and potentially rob a bank. While not a very heroic thing to do, in this inflated economy, why not? However, what elevates Maverick above the previous two characters on this list is his kindness to just sit down and talk with other supes, and being helpful where he can.
7Cate Dunlap
Thanks to her impressive telepathic powers, Cate Dunlap is one of the most tortured and powerful characters inThe Boysuniverse. At the age of nine, while on a camping trip with her family, her younger brother started to annoy Cate, so she grabbed his arm, and told him to leave, and never come back. Due to her mind-manipulating powers, he did. Her parents never loved her the same since then, locking her in a room, and keeping their distance, before she was shipped off to Godolkin, where she worked with Dean Shetty to keep the school’s dark secrets hidden.
Why Cate Makes the List
Dunlap may be the most dangerous character in all of Godolkin University. Her abilities allow her to control the minds, emotions, and actions of others, as well as grant her the ability to mind-wipe others, as she’s constantly wiping her friends and ex-boyfriends' minds. To top her already impressive power set, Cate can also read minds, allowing her to hear the overwhelming thoughts of those around her. One of the best moments in the series sees Cate manipulating Rufus, ordering him to grab a baseball bat, and repeatedly thwacking himself in the nuts while shouting “Jumanji”, offering a showcase of her powerful abilities.
6Andre Anderson
As the son of the famed superhero Polarity, Andre Anderson is one of Godolkin’s best students. With his ability to control metal, much like the X-Men antagonist, Magneto, Andre is a powerful supe, and passionate about doing the right thing, no matter the cost. While his powers are unique, every time he uses them, he increases his chances of developing brain lesions, which could unfortunately lead to seizures and strokes.
Why Andre Makes the List
Andre is one of the most charismatic superheroes on the show. His kindness, purity, and desire to help others make for a deeply engaging and endearing supe. But it’s his mighty superpowers that make Andre one of the coolest new characters in the show. Throughout the series, Andre’s power allows him to destroy the statue of his father, create origami swans, and stop a helicopter from pummeling into the ground. While he is yet to lift a bridge, Andre’s powers have incredible potential, and we can’t wait to see what the extent of his powers go.
5Luke Riordan / Golden Boy
Boasting similar powers to The Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, Luke Riordan, aka Golden Boy, was, at one point, ranked as the number one student at Godolkin University, but after a breakdown caused Luke to murder his mentor, Professor Brinkerhoff, Luke was quick to kill himself. Mourned by all at Godolkin University, his friends and teachers praised Luke for his potential, kindness, and heart.
Why Golden Boy Makes the List
While Luke’s kindness and bravery place him high on the list, it’s his impressive fire powers that elevate him above the rest. Harnessing the ability to shroud himself in a fiery aura, as well as being able to conjure fire, Golden Boy is one of themost powerful supes inThe Boysuniverse. Even the likes of Homelander would have had a tough time going up against him.
4Sam Riordan
Sam Riordan, the biological brother of Godolkin’s beloved Golden Boy, is a troubled test subject of The Woods, who becomes close friends with the Guardians of Godolkin after his violent escape. Possessing strength that far surpasses that of his brother, Sam can rip his enemies in two, and punch holes straight through his victims with ease. He can withstand point-blank gunfire and anything his enemies throw at him, thanks to his enhanced durability. Despite his impressive powers, Sam heavily suffers from numerous hallucinations, thanks to his time in The Woods.
Why Sam Makes the List
Sam is a fascinating character. His tortured past as a test subject, created a deep hatred for humans, forcing Sam to go on numerous rage-filled massacres. His powers know no bounds, allowing him to fend off some of the most powerful supes at Godolkin, like Marie, Jordan Li, and Andre Anderson. Not only does he harbor incredible strength, but he is close to being indestructible.
3Jordan Li
Much like Andre Anderson and Golden Boy, Jordan Li is another competitive Godolkin student, and one of the most powerful on the campus. Possessing the ability to swap genders at will, Jordan can shoot out energy blasts, harbor superhuman strength and durability, and become super-agile, making the character far faster than other supes.
Why Jordan Li Makes the List
As an allegory of gender fluidity, Jordan Li is one of the best characters in the show. Jordan is a confident, courageous, and determined supe who always puts their life above others. Whether it’s defending the school from Golden Boy, or protecting his friends from the onslaught of supes who recently escaped from The Woods. Their ability to change gender not only grants Jordan different superpowers, giving reasons for their constant gender changes, especially in battle, but also offers a fascinating parallel to real-world issues, which is somethingThe Boysalways shines at.
The Boys: Why The Series is Still The Best Comic Book Show
The hyper-violent superhero satirical comedy, The Boys, is without a doubt the best comic book TV show to date, and here’s why.
2Emma Meyer
Possessing similar abilities to Ant-Man, Emma Meyer can shrink and enlarge herself at her own will. The only catch is that to do this, she must force herself to vomit. Emma always puts her own life above others, constantly saving her friends, and falling in love with Sam after spending a lot of time with him since saving his life.
Why Emma Makes the List
Emma is an incredibly kind and caring superhero, who boasts some cool superpowers. Her ability to shrink and grow makes her an unstoppable hero who can climb into her enemies' brains to burst their eardrums, killing them instantly. Her ability to grow grants her enhanced super-strength, and she is even able to hold back powerful supes like her love interest, Sam. However, what elevates Emma above other characters is her compelling arc, which tackles themes of body dysmorphia.
1Marie Mareau
As the lead protagonist of the show, Marie has the ability to control blood, an ability she discovers after accidentally murdering her parents. Determined to be the first Black woman in the Seven, and after a long wait, Marie finally gets accepted into Godolkin, where she immediately becomes a favorite hero on the campus, after Golden Boy’s unfortunate suicide.
Why Marie Makes the List
Marie possesses one of the coolest powers in the entireBoysuniverse. Her ability to control blood can both save lives and take them. She can stop blood loss, detect an individual’s blood type, andexplode an entire individual with the snap of her fingers. She can use her blood as whips, and throw sharpened spouts of blood at her enemies. Never has a fairly gross ability looked so cool.
