Less than a month afterStranger ThingsstarMillie Bobby Brownjoined the cast of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s sequelGodzilla: King of Monsters, another Netflix star has come aboard.Kyle Chandler, who stars in the streaming service’s hit drama seriesBloodline, has signed on to play the father ofMillie Bobby Brown’s character. Legendary first announced this sequel during their Comic-Con 2014 presentation, when it was confirmed that this action-thriller will also bring back legendary Toho monstersRodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. OriginalGodzilladirectorGareth Edwardswas slated to return to the director’s chair, but he eventually bowed out, paving the way forMichael Dougherty(Krampus,Trick ‘r Treat) to step in as the director. The filmmaker will also be re-writing the script with hisKrampuswriting partnerZach Shields, who will both also lead a writers room for theGodzillaandKing Kongfranchises, now known as the MonsterVerse.
