Homeland Season 5 will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war onterror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.Homelandis currently in production in Berlin, and is the first AmericanTV seriesto shoot entirely in Germany.
Homeland’sseason premiereon October 4 at 9 PM ET will be followed by theSeason 2premiere of The Affair at 10 PM ET.Homelandis nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at next month’sThe Emmy Awards, but many were surprised when The Affair was snubbed. The series, which debuted last fall, won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series earlier this year, but it was completely snubbed by the Emmys.
