Director K. Asher Levin will join forces with two icons ofhorrorfor his new movie,The Possession at Gladstone Manner. Currently filming in Kansas City, the film starsBarbara CramptonandLin Shaye, two names that have become synonymous with the horror genre over the decades. In the 1980s, Crampton starred in such films asRe-Animator,From Beyond, andChopping Mall, while Shaye’s pedigree goes all the way back toA Nightmare on Elm Street, though more recently she has become known for her role in theInsidiousfranchise.
As perFangoria,The Possession at Gladstone Manneris produced by Umbrelic Entertainment, and will also feature Caylee Cowan (Hypnotic), Jesse Metcalf (John Tucker Must Die), Charlotte Kirk (The Reckoning), Darren Weiss (Inside Man), and William Mapother (Blackhat). K. Asher Levin, whose past credits include the 2022horror comedy,Slayers, co-wrote the script along with Danny Matier (The Unborn), and says that together his cast and crew are going to create something that will “make Wes Craven proud.”

“When Jamie Black discovers her mother has gone missing, she resolves to investigate by applying for the same job her mother held at Gladstone Manor. Jamie soon finds evidence that her mother isn’t the only missing person, and that she may be dealing with sinister forces beyond this world. Desperate, she enlists the help of her brothers – Rupert and Chris – and Sam (Chris’ fiancée): all of whom are professional criminals and former marines.
Once Jamie arrives at the house, she is immediately greeted by a mysterious and evil Nurse, and soon realizes the residents of Gladstone Manor are an enemy like no other, with a dark power she’s never faced. Trapped in the house, she must rely on her brothers and future sister-in-law to save her.”

Lin Shaye has been a mainstayin genre cinemasince the late 70s, and has appeared in at least one film a year since 1992, though oftentimes she’s been featured in as many as 10. She recently reprised her role of psychic medium Elise Rainier in 2023’sInsidious: The Red Door(albeit in spirit form), and has two other films currently in post-production,Max Reload and the Nether Blasters, as well asThe Gnashing.

She recently headlined the 2023 Joe Lynch horror film,Suitable Flesh, and was also spotted in Francis Galluppi’sThe Last Stop in Yuma County.
