Nerdy fans love interesting calculations from their favorite movie properties. Maybe you’ve wondered how many lightsabers tall you are. Or maybe otherStar Warsfans want to know how many Death Stars of liquid your swimming pool holds. Or maybe you’re a masochist and want to know what your bank account looks like when converted to “Tony Stark fortunes.” (If you’re like me, though, you’re probably already too depressed about the answer to look at that one…)
These answers and more can be found in a new website called the “Weird Units Conversion” Omni Calculator, which can be foundhere. This website focuses on weird measurements designed to give you new and interesting sets of trivia to entertain your friends with.
The Omni Calculator was created to help anyone solve calculation based problems in their lives. But in an effort to prove that evenmathcan be fun when used for weird calculations, they created this “Weird Units Calculator.”
Steve Wooding of Omni Calculator explains: “We constructed this weird unit converter exactly for the entertainment of the inquisitive, unconventional minds such as yourself.
Naturally, this tool can be used to check totally normal, everyday things, such as switching feet to meters - but let’s be real, where’s the fun in that? We’ve prepared a wide variety of fun, interesting, and sometimes straight-up wacky units for you to choose from so that you may take a new, fresh perspective and add an exciting edge to your mundane daily calculations!”
So how does the “Weird Units Calculator” work? Well, all you have to do is select the type of unit you want to convert. Such as length, volume, temperature, or money. Then just input your measurement in standard units. Metric or non metric units are available in a handy drop down menu. And then select the weird measurement you want to convert to. After you convert your measurement, the calculator will also give you comparisons to other Weird Units. For example, I put in my height of 5.75 feet. That gave me a lightsaber measurement of 1.93 lightsabers. The converter informed me that that is the same as 117 slices of bread, 19.5 high heeled shoes, or 0.128 Hollywood signs
As you may see, there are a lot of fun ways to convert standard measurements to weird calculations using this tool. It’s a fun way to describe measurements in new and different ways. Which is more fun to say? “I’m 5 feet 9 inches tall.” Or “I’m 1.93 lightsabers tall.” I can tell you which way I think is more fun!
Just remember the wise words fromthe late Stan Lee. “With great power comes great responsibility.” This is not a power to be abused! Use the calculator wisely. The last thing we want to do is to have to calculate your super-villainy in Green Goblins! The “Weird Calculations Calculator” was first discovered in an article on Nerdist.
