The Netflix action comedy features an all-star cast led by Jamie Foxx (They Cloned Tyrone, Day Shift) and Cameron Diaz (There’s Something About Mary, Knight and Day), with the former returning to screensfollowing his recent health scare, while the latter is back after a decade-long hiatus from acting. The rest of the cast includes Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights, Bloodline), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction, Hillbilly Elegy), Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Fleabag), Jamie Demetriou (Barbie, Fleabag), McKenna Roberts (Skyscraper), and Rylan Jackson (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves).

Charlie’s Angelsstar Cameron Diaz recently revealed what it was that brought herout of retirement, with the Golden Globe nominee saying “it was just the right time.”
“It was just the right time for my family. After Covid, we were in the house for a long time, which was amazing and the problem was we would probably stay there, we would still be there right now. People would be like, ‘It’s over’ and I’d be like, ‘No it’s not, it’s not over for me. So I had to push myself; my husband and I — my husband, who is the best — he was like, ‘You’ve been supporting us and building the family’ and supporting him in his businesses, he’s like, ‘It’s time for us to support you and let Mommy ascend and do her thing.’ He’s like, ‘Let me see you do it girl.’ I was like, ‘Alright, here we go.'”
Long-Awaited Netflix Action Sequel Gets Promising Update From Returning Star
The follow-up to one of the most popular action movies on Netflix is taking forever to arrive.
Back in Actionwill be the third time that Diaz and Foxx have shared the screen. The pair first starred together in the sports dramaAny Given Sundayback in 1999 before reuniting in the musical-comedyAnniein 2014. The latter is Diaz’s final credit prior to her hiatus, with the actress now due toreturn forShrek 5and the black comedyOutcomestarring Keanu Reeves alongside Netflix’s Back in Action.
Back in Actionis scheduled to be released byNetflixon July 31, 2025.
