BeforeJason Momoareturns to the big screen asAquaman, the action star will make his debut on Netflix in the streaming service’s new seriesFrontier. Netflix dropped a new trailer for this upcoming series, which will debut on January 20. The first season of the drama series, commissioned by Discovery Canada, is made up of six, one-hour episodes.Frontierdebuted on Discovery Canada before coming to Netflix.
Netflix, the world’s leading internet TV network, announced thatFrontier, a newaction adventure drama seriesstarringJason Momoa(Game of Thrones,Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice) and from co-creatorsRob Blackie(Republic of Doyle) andPeter Blackie(Majumder Manor) and directorBrad Peyton(San Andreas,Incarnate,Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) will premiere exclusively on Netflix outside of Canada, everywhere the service is available.
The series is an action-packed adventure drama following the chaotic and violent struggle to control wealth and power in the North American fur trade in the late 18th century. Told from multiple perspectives, the series takes place in a world where business negotiations might be resolved with close-quarter hatchet fights, and where delicate relations betweenNative tribesand Europeans can spark bloody conflicts.
Alun Armstrong(New Tricks,Braveheart),Landon Liboiron(Hemlock Grove,Degrassi),Zoe Boyle(Downton Abbey,Sons of Anarchy) andAllan Hawco(Republic of Doyle,The Book of Negroes) round out theinternational cast.
