The musical adventure starsAubrey PeeplesasJerrica, who turns into the superstar Jem. She is backed byStefanie Scottas Kimber, Aurora Perrineau as Shana and Hayley Kiyoko as Aja. Together, they are the Holograms. Directed byJon M. Chu,Jem and the Hologramsis written by Ryan Landels and produced byJon M. Chu,Jason Blumfor Blumhouse Productions, Scooter Braun, Bennett Schneir,Brian Goldnerand Stephen Davis. The movie is based on the iconic Hasbroanimated TV seriesand Toyline.

The first clip introduces the four girls toJuliette Lewis' Erica Raymond, who will manage the band. She gives Jerrica her stage nameJem, promising the girls plenty of free publicity through Starlight Entertainment. And they’re all going to get a little help reinventing themselves for the stage. And, oh, yes, there will be a paycheck! The second clip has Jerrica talking to her mother, played byMolly Ringwald. Jem doesn’t really exist, and Jerrica isn’t sure how to handle that moving into the future with the band. It’s a moral dilemma, for sure.

Ryan Guzmanis introduced in the third clip as boyfriend Rio Pacheco. Jerrica and Rio have a deep conversation about surviving on the road, and how difficult it is not to lose oneself to fashion and fame, and all the glitter that comes with it. Here,Ryan Guzmangets to put some of the original theme song lyrics to good use. The fourth clip has Jem and the girls singing on the beach late at night while Synergy dances to the sweet sounds of the Holograms. Hopefully the wet sand doesn’t rust out his innards. The fifth and final clip finds Jem on stages, giving one of the best performances of her life as she belts out the hit single ‘I’m Still Here’. The gang’s other song, ‘Youngblood’, gets a full on music video.

Jem and the Hologramswill have plenty of competition when it hits theaters October 23, debuting alongside The Weinstein Company comedyBurnt, Lionsgate’sThe Last Witch Hunter, Paramount’sParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimensionand Open Road Films’Rock the Kasbah. Chances are you may decided on one of the other offerings after pursuing this latest big batch of footage. But who knows, perhaps you’ll be willing to give the entire 90 minute ride a shot!
