Jeremy Renner’s accident and recovery showed true superhero tenacity

Even though the actor has appeared in various action films and has played a superhero on the big screen, Renner proved to show real life superhero strength following a horrific snowplow accident. The actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries that included eight ribs broken in 14 places, a broken left tibia, ankle, right clavicle, right shoulder, and more. Renner was essentially crushed by the snowplow as he was trying to save his nephew from being injured when the snowplow began rolling back due to the parking brake not being engaged. The actor’s nephew escaped without any injuries, making Renner as heroic as the characters he has played in movies.

Jeremy Renner Says Near-Death Experience “Squashed” the Callousness Out of Him

Jeremy Renner admitted the accident ‘had a lot of callousness squashed out’ of him.

The incident took place on New Year’s Day 2023and Renner routinely shared his recovery process via social media. Although it was a rough and long road, the actor showed miraculous results and what could’ve been an accident that turned fatal, turned into a story of true strength in the darkest of times and displayed Renner’s tenacity as a human being to never give up and get back to the man he was prior to the event. He had his family by his side throughout his recovery and his fellow Avengers also showed their support. Scarlett Johansson, who has starred with Renner in various MCU projects, admitted that in their Avengers text thread he was labeled the real hero by saying, “I was very upset. On the Avengers text chain, we’re like, ‘OK, you beat us all. That’s it. You won.’ That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable.
