A new photo fromJessica Jonesseason 2 has arrived online and the hero from Hell’s Kitchen has seen better days. Marvel and Netflix are remaining pretty tight-lipped on the details of the upcoming sophomore season of the hit series, which is set to arrive on the streaming service in March. This new photo is in line with that, as it doesn’t tell us much, but we do see the titular character looking rather distraught and flexing her muscles.
This latest look atJessica Jonesseason 2 is set against the backdrop of a very woodsy road that looks like it could have been ripped straight from a horror movie. If you didn’t know thatJessica Joneswas a show about an investigator with superpowers, you’d almost think that Krysten Ritter was starring in some sort of slasher movie. Could things be getting a little dark in the new season? Possibly, but as showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says, we’re going to be learning in the upcoming episodes. Here’s what she had to say.
“We’re always digging deeper into Jessica’s character and this season we’re peeling back even more layers, revealing more about the experiences that have shaped her present-day life.”
It hasn’t yet been revealed who the big bad for season 2 is going to be. But we do know thatDavid Tennant is going to return as Kilgrave, in some way or another. Anyone who saw theJessica Jonesseason 1 finale knows that seems pretty unlikely, but they’ve found a way to bring him back. Though, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be the main bad guy. Wilson Fisk/Kingpin showed up inDaredevilseason 2, but wasn’t the main threat to Matt Murdock. So it could be something similar inJessica Jonesseason 2.
Jessica Joneswas thesecond Marvel seriesthat Netflix released and, prior to the series, she wasn’t nearly as well-known asDaredevil. But the show proved to be a massive success and helped paved the way forLuke CageandIron Firstas well, even though Finn Jones' solo series left a lot to be desired in the eyes of critics. We last saw Jones inThe Defenders, but it looks like she’s going to be more or less on her own in the new season of her solo series. With any luck, we should be seeing a trailer forJessica Jonesseason 2 arrive online very soon.
Season 2 of the Marvel series stars, in addition to Krysten Ritter asJessica Jones, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse.
