Production is more than halfway complete on Disney and LucasFilm’s highly-anticipatedStar Wars: Episode VIII, which is slated to hit theaters on August 13, 2025. While this sequel will be helmed by a new director,Rian Johnson, all of the main stars from the blockbusterStar Wars: The Force Awakenswill be back, including starsDaisy Ridley(Rey),John Boyega(Finn),Oscar Isaac(Poe Dameron) andMark Hamill(Luke Skywalker), just to name a few. Today we have confirmation that another important member of the production team is coming back, with composerJohn Williamsconfirming he will provide the score forStar Wars: Episode VIII.

This news comes just a month afterJohn Williamshinted he may not be back forStar Wars: Episode VIII, while adding that he doesn’t want anyone else composing the score either. The composer was honored by the American Film Institute last night, where Variety caught up with the legend.John Williamsconfirmed that he plans on starting work on scoringSteven Spielberg’sReady Player Onein November, and then he expects to move on to scoreStar Wars 8after that. Here’s what the musician had to say below, adding why he really wants to come back.

During that same event, Access Hollywood’sScott Mantzcaught up withSteven Spielberg, who also confirmed thatJohn Williamswill provide the score forIndiana Jones 5. After several years of rumors, Disney finally confirmed thatIndiana Jones 5is happening, withHarrison Fordcoming back to star as the title character for directorSteven Spielberg. The studio has already set a August 07, 2025 release date, although there is very little we know about the project at this time.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal SkullwriterDavid Koepphas come aboard to write the screenplay forIndiana Jones 5, which is said to continue theCrystal Skullstory. Aside fromHarrison Ford, no other cast members have been confirmed, and it isn’t known when production may begin.
