Johnny Depphas responded to new allegations of bad on-set behavior, this time fromBlowactressLola Glaudini. Despite originally appearing in an episode of thePowerful Truth Angels podcastearlier this year, the video has been gaining a lot of attention on social media in the last few days, leading to the actor responding to the claims through his representative.
Sincehis legal battle with Amber Heard, Depp has been the subject of several historical complaints over his on set behavior, although very few of the claims seem to have any tangible basis beyond being one person’s word against the other’s. According to Glaudini’s comments, she was told by director Ted Demme to laugh during one scene, which led to Depp subsequently screaming and shouting at her. She said:

“[Depp] says his monologue. I hear the cue, and I go haha, I do a big laugh or whatever. Johnny Depp, when they say cut, walks over to me, comes up to me, sticks his finger in my face and he goes, ‘Who the fck do you think you are? Who the fck do you think you are? Shut the fck up. I’m out here, and I’m trying to fcking say my lines and you’re fcking pulling focus. You fcking idiot. Oh, now, oh now it’s not so funny? Now you may shut up? Now you can fcking shut the fck up? The quiet that you are right now, that’s how you f*cking stay.’”
This was on the first day of filming, according to the actress, and as her first studio movie, it did not exactly give her the experience she had hoped for. She continued:

“First day, on the set, I’ve never met him,” Glaudini added. “This was my first studio movie, I’ve just done indies until then. And I have the star who I have idolized, who I am so excited to work with, reamed me in my face. The only thing going through my head was, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry.’”
Glaudini noted that on the advice of her father, whom she spoke to about the incident, when Depp apologized to her the same day, she played it cool. However, she also said that “when we wrapped, I was like a pariah. No one wanted to talk to me, because I am that bitch who he railed at.”

Johnny Depp’s Representative Set the Record Straight
According toVariety, a rep for Depp responded to their request for a statement, saying:
“Johnny always prioritizes good working relationships with cast and crew and this recounting differs greatly from the recollection of other members on set at the time.”

One of those points of view came from Samuel Sarkar, who worked as a sound technician onBlow, and has worked on a number of other Depp movies, including acting as a producer on his recent film,Minamata. According to Sarkar:
“As a sound person, you’re constantly listening to what is going on on set, listening for noises, listening for chatter. In fact, specifically, I would listen to Johnny’s audio to check for interference, both during rehearsals and during the take. I never heard anything like that — and that would have been a remarkable event.”
