Like any former star of a Marvel project, Krysten Ritter has frequently been asked whether she would like to reprise her role as the Private Investigator Jessica Jones, and on numerous occasions she has not held back in making it clear that it was always something she would love to do.

While the original plans for Marvel Studios’Daredevil: Born Againveered away from having many links to the Netflix shows, a change in direction brought things back into alignment, and while there is a little bit of a disjoint between the old and the new, the cracks were papered over just enough to get by.
This means that any of theDefenderscan now be brought into the story if Kevin Feige and the team decide to include them, and Ritter is the first to make the leap. This is something that she has been waiting for just as long as her fans, as back in 2024 she said of a possible return:

“One hundred percent [I would return as Jessica Jones]. I am ready, and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She’s a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long. I played that character for five years, and she’s a character who’s very important to me and many women and men. So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already.”
Ritter will be seen inDaredevil: Born Againwhen the series returns to Disney+ in 2026, with the plan being for the show to become an annual release. While Season 1 reportedly disappointed Disney with its lower-than-expected viewership, the series is one that Marvel Studios is not likely to pull the plug on without a very good reason. With that in mind, fans can prepare for Jessica Jones’ return and hope it continues beyond the next season.
