During a recent interview withScreen Rant,Lokihead writer Eric Martin discussed episode 5 of theMarvelshow and teased huge reveals in the season 2 finale.

Season 2 ofLokihas returned fans to the world of the God of Mischief as he attempts to solve the problems caused by the death of He Who Remains in the first season’s final episode. Fighting to prevent another multiversal war, Loki has come a long way sincehis villainous turn in 2012’sAvengers, and with his newly acquired powers of time and space travel, there are still plenty of surprises to come in the imminent season finale.

During his conversation with ScreenRant, Martin discussed Loki’s new powers, saying “I think we’re going to see how that has evolved in the next episode, but I think what we’ve seen at the end of episode five is he’s learned to control it.”

Of course, the events of episode five open up a whole new book of questions about the history andthe future of the TVA, and Loki’s involvement in it. When asked whether Loki always recruited his TVA friends in the past, Martin teased:

“I think you’ll definitely have to watch episode six to get answers to that, but he definitely recruited them in episode five.”

Eric Martin Discussed the Development of the Characters and Their Arcs

The head writer also discussed the development of the characters and their arcs, saying, “We started, like you, in season one, there were murmurs talks about it, and then we really started getting into it after season one came out, but we always wanted it to be an evolution of season 1.”

When asked what other real-life mysteries could have been potentially caused by Loki, Martin said, “I mean, I think there are so many, and I think that’s the fun of Loki, is that if there’s any sort of little mystery out there, you can blame it on the God of mischief.”

The head writer also revealed some ofhis favorite Easter eggs from season 2, saying, “I think it’s all this stuff we see around OB and the guidebook, handbook, Timely, and just the ouroboros of all of that. Every little dot of that throughout the thing, I think is just so much fun.”

Martin also discussed whether the upcomingAvengersfilms were being considered while writing the second season ofLoki.The head writer said:

“No, no. We’re really fortunate in that we were just siloed off and were just writing the best season of TV we possibly could, and there weren’t conversations about we had to do this or that. It was just like, earn this. Do a great job.”

The sixth and final episode ofLokiseason 2 releases on Disney+ on November 9th.
