Disney+ has revealed the first look at their upcomingMonsters, Inc.spin-off series. The new show is titled Monsters at Work and we have been introduced to a new character named Tylor Tuskmon, who is voiced by Ben Feldman. It was reported earlier this year that John Goodman and Billy Crystal are coming back to reprise their roles as Sulley and Mike, respectively. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the series and we finally have some new information to share.
InMonsters at Work, Tylor Tuskmon is an eager mechanic atMonsters, Inc., “who dreams of moving from the facilities department to the Laugh Floor to work alongside his Monstropolis idols Mike and Sulley.” Ben Feldman shared the first image of his character on social media and is very excited for fans to see what he has been working on. He posted the picture with some self-deprecating humor. He had this to say.
“This show is crazy fun & I’m so hyped to have finagled my way into the [Disney] fam. Also if I’m not really your thing, Mike & Sulley from the other Monsters movies are back too so relax.”
Monsters at Workis expected to premiere in 2020 on theDisney+ streaming platform. The series takes place six months after the events fromMonsters, Inc.Instead of scaring kids, Mike and Sulley have learned that laughter gains even more energy than scaring, so we’re going to see a whole new side to these characters as they harvest the laughter of children instead of screams. Hopefully we’ll see some footage within the next few months.
In addition to Ben Feldman and the return ofJohn Goodman and Billy Crystal,Monsters at Workalso features the returning voices of Jennifer Tilly, Bob Peterson, and John Ratzenberger. Other additions to the cast are Kelly Marie Tran, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Stanton, and Aisha Tyler. Overall, it looks like Disney+ is going to be a juggernaut when it debuts this fall. They have some of the biggest franchises in entertainment history and they are bringing back some of the biggest stars in the industry to create new material. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the streaming landscape changes at the end of the year and beyond.
