Last week, we reported that Activision Blizzard is launching their own movie and TV studio. They also recently made headlines by purchasing the company responsible for the popular mobile game Candy Crush.Stephen Colbertput two and two together and, with the help ofLiam Neeson, showed fans what a Candy Crush movie may look like. It’s worth noting that Activision paid $5.9 billion for Candy Crush, nearly $2 billion more than Disney paid for LucasFilm, so don’t be surprised if a real movie is announced.
Dragon Ball ZLive-Action Fan Film
TheDragon Ball Zfranchise is one that has found much more success on the small screen than in cinemas. The 2009 misfireDragonball Evolutionwas the last time we saw a live action adaptation of this beloved manga on the big screen, and it didn’t fare quite so well at the box office.Black Smoke Filmshas put together a fascinating 29-minute fan film entitledDragon Ball Z: The Fall of Men, which is inspired by the original characters but set in a different world that pays tribute to the universe created by Akira Toriyama.
Star Wars 7 Meets It’s Always Sunny
Even if you aren’t a fan of FX’sIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you’ve probably heard their classic song Dayman at some point. YoutuberBrown Moseshas taken this hilarious song and spliced it into thefinal trailerforStar Wars: The Force Awakensreleased last month. This video is cut together rather brilliantly, with all of the Dayman portions of the song matching up with theStar Wars: The Force Awakensheroes, while the Nightman parts are in sync with Kylo Ren scenes.

In case you haven’t looked at the calendar today, it’s Friday the 13th, making it the perfect time for aFriday the 13thmashup.Shawn Kohnehas put together a fantastic video that collides theFriday the 13thfranchise with the 1989 comedy classicWeekend at Bernie’s. While at first glance these movies may not appear to have too much in common, they both involve dead people popping up near a lake.
Here’s HowRocky IVEnded the Cold War
College Humorhas put together a hilarious parody of ESPN’s30 for 30film series, which shows howRocky IVended theCold War. We hear from boxing analyst Max Kellerman and a number of journalists and historians who break down the events ofRocky IV, including how Apollo Creed’s dance number withJames Brownwore him out, and led to his eventual death at the massive hands of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). This five minute parody is truly hilarious, and a must watch for any Rocky fan.
The Social NetworkandMonsters UniversityMashup
The fine folks atZenlike Productionshave put together a fantastic mashup ofThe Social NetworkandMonsters University. While the footage is all fromMonsters University, they splice in audio fromThe Social Network, including that haunting cover of Radiohead’s Creep. None of the audio from the trailer was altered in any way, and thanks to some clever editing, this is a practically perfect mashup.
Miles Morales Stars inSpider-ManFan Film
BeforeTom Hollandwas cast as the newSpider-Man, there had been speculation that Sony and Marvel may use Miles Morales as Spidey in the upcoming reboot. There are still rumors that Miles may show up in this new movie, but until that is confirmed,Bard Tales Productionshas created a wonderful nine-minute fan film that offers an live action origin story for Miles becomingSpider-Man, in the wake of Peter Parker’s death.
