Although only one episode has been released on streaming services, distributor GKids celebrated the release of season 2 with a special theatrical edit of the first three episodes of the new season, as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the show. Critical reception to the movie has already praised the series for its stunning animation from Science Saru, faithful adaptation of the source material, and stunning action sequences.

‘Dan Da Dan’ Is a Popular Manga With the Potential for Plenty More Seasons
Dan Da Danis based on the Japanese manga series of the same name, which is written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. The series first began publication in April 2021, with chapters released weekly every Monday on the ShonenJump+ website. Physical volumes of the manga have also been released in stores and online in North America, further demonstrating the title’s popularity, which centers around two high school students, Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, and their group of friends and family as they investigate the paranormal and combat supernatural entities and aliens alike.
A mix of sci-fi and horror,Dan Da Dan’snewest season centers on anentity known as The Evil Eye, which poses a dangerous threat once it possesses the body of Momo’s childhood friend, Jiji. This season is also set to introduce a couple of new supporting characters from the manga, expanding the world ofDan Da Danand making way for even more stunning animation and fight sequences.

Dan Da DanSeason 2 is streaming on both Crunchyroll and Netflix, with new episodes releasing weekly on Thursdays. Just like the previous season, the anime will consist of 12 episodes, airing weekly until September 2025. There’s no news of a third season, but with a manga as popular asDan Da Dan, it’s not hard to imagine that the series will get to continue adapting the Manga, especially since it is still ongoing and just recently published its 200th chapter.
