Season 2 ofDandadanis currently streaming on Netflix,and, at the time of publication, is the seventh most popular series on the streamer this week. The show streams in partnership with Netflix and Crunchyroll, and new episodes release weekly on both platforms. Season 1 of the hit anime, based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, premiered in October 2024. Fans had to wait less than 12 months for the second season, and, so far, it hasn’t disappointed. The show holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Season 2 has upped the quality of the first season, bringing even more laughs, more intense action, and (somehow) even higher quality animation from Science SARU.
If you haven’tdived into the weird and wonderful world ofDandadan,the series follows two high school students, Momo and Okarun. The former is obsessed with spirits but doesn’t believe in aliens, while the latter loves aliens but believes that supernatural spirits are a myth. In a bid to prove the other wrong, they go to well-known supernatural and UFO hot spots. Unfortunately for the duo, they’re both real, kickstarting an action-packed adventure to battle demons and aliens while trying to recover Okarun’s missing testicles (yep, you read that right). We promise, the show is much better than its zany premise sounds.
‘Dandadan’ Is Halfway Through Its Second Season
Season 2 ofDandadanwas one of the mosthotly anticipated anime of the Summer 2025 season.Season 1 also managed to enter Netflix’s streaming charts a few times with each new episode. But, audiences appear to be even more impressed and obsessed with Season 2. New episodes release weekly on Crunchyroll and Netflix shortly after they air on Japanese TV. Netflix might have made the weekly release schedule a thing of the past, butDandadanproves that it still works.
Six episodes ofDandadanSeason 2 have been released so far. The second season is following suit to its predecessor, and will run for a total of 12 episodes. New episodes are released every Thursday. The series hasn’t yet been renewed for a third season. However, given the immense popularity of the franchise, expect the Season 3 announcement to happen in the coming weeks.
