Disney and Lucasfilm are getting ready for the release ofRogue One: A Star Wars Storyin just a few short months. That being the case, a bunch of merchandise for the movie has recently surfaced on the web. Not only do these toys look cool, likely for both kids and adults, but they also reveal some important story elements and give us a better idea of what we might be able to expect in the upcomingStar Wars spinoff.
EW unveiled a look at a handful of the new toys coming out in honor of the release ofRogue One, and not surprisingly, there is a heavy focus onFelicity Jones' character Jyn Erso. While many aspects of her character are still a mystery, one of the new toys gives us a big clue about Erso. The toy is an Imperial Ground Crew figure, which seems innocuous enough on its own, but the outfit is an exact match to the one that Erso was wearing in the final shot of the firstRogue Onetrailer that dropped back in April. So, we now know that Erso will be impersonating one of these Imperial workers at one point in the movie.

While perhaps less telling, there is also going to a be a Jyn Erso action figure included in the AT-ACT playset. The set also, of course, comes with anAC-ACT walkerthat fires Nerf darts. The set also includes an Imperial transport driver, as well as the newly revealed Imperial droidC2-B5, which essentially appears to be an evil version of R2-D2.Rogue Onewill be the first time we see a droid of that kind featured in aStar Warsmovie. For what it’s worth, the set retails for $300.
Several other characters that have been teased in various marketing materials forRogue Oneare also getting toys made in their likeness, and the information we got about the toys clears some things up. In the behind-the-scenes featurette that was released duringStar WarsCelebration, there was a big, white creature resembling a Wampa fromThe Empire Strikes Back. That creature will be included in a toy set with a Scariff Shoretrooper (a Stormtrooper who will do battle on the planet Scariff) and is called a Moroff. It is also said to be a Rebel-friendly creature. There is also a solo figure forAlan Tudyk’s Droid K-2S0, and another two pack, featuring aDeath Trooperand an alien Rebel soldier named Pao.

Not surprisingly, there are going to be plenty of LEGO sets themed aroundRogue One. One of the sets features the Imperial Assault Hovertank, which was featured in the trailers and in the behind-the-scenes featurette. That set includes a LEGO version ofDonnie Yen’s character Chirrut Imwe. Additionally, there is a set that features the new TIE Fighter class, the TIE Striker. The set includes several various Imperials and one lonely Rebel. There is also an AT-ST walker set, as well as Director Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle, who is being played byBen Mendelsohn. There are also full LEGO figure sets for K-2S0 and a Death Trooper.
Even though we have never seen a Death Trooper inStar Warsmovie before, they appear to be a massive part ofRogue One. They have been included in much of the footage we have seen for the movie up to this point, a ton of the photos and many of the toys coming out include Death Troopers in them. Several new images that surfaced also feature another great look at this imposing new class of Stormtrooper. Not only that, but Hot Toys recently unveiled their 1 / 6 scale collectible version of the Death Trooper. It is a gorgeous figure, with a ton of attention to detail, which we have come to expect from Hot Toys. But it is more evidence that Disney and Lucasfilm are anticipating on the Death Troopers being a big hit. While the specifics of what make these Death Troopers so important have been kept under wraps, it is becoming very clear that they are not just going to be an ancillary aspect of this movie.

Outside of that, a couple of new photos have also surfaced, showcasing Jyn Erso in handcuffs, looking rather upset about the fact that she is in handcuffs, as well as another image showing Orson Krennic in the foreground, with some Death Troopers in the background.Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyhits theaters on December 16. Be sure to check out all of the new toys, which will be available starting September 30 as part ofForce Friday, and images for yourself below,
