It seems likeStranger Thingsis quickly becoming theGTA 6of the streaming world, as a leaked report has supposedly revealed thatNetflixis now considering releasing the fifth and final season in three parts, meaning we might not see the grand finale until 2026. Debuting all the way back in 2016, fans have been waiting forever for the final chapter in the epic saga to make its way to the streaming service, and while Netflix has yet to confirm the release schedule forStranger ThingsSeason 5, this new rumor is certainly disheartening.

First revealed by industry insider @MyTimeToShineH on X, it appears as if Netflix is looking to possibly releaseStranger ThingsSeason 5 in three parts instead of two to accommodate the final season’s increased runtime. We already know that each episode is said to feel like its own feature film that will send the series out with a bang, so there could be some truth to the new rumor. It’s said that the first part ofStranger ThingsSeason 5 will be released in October, the second in November, and the third and final part at some point in 2026.

What Do We Know About ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5?

Thus far, not much is known about the plot ofStranger ThingsSeason 5, but we at least know there will be a time jump that picks things up a year after the events of last season. Spanning eight episodes – the titles for which most have already been revealed – the core cast will be returning alongside newcomers Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Sherman Augustus, and Alex Breaux.

When it comes to what we can expect inStranger ThingsSeason 5, much of the cast have already said that it will feature an emotional finale, which is to be expected when you consider we’ve watched them grow up over the last 10 years, so saying a final goodbye to them is certainly going to tug on our heartstrings. In terms of answers, star Finn Wolfhard has said previouslythat the final season “answers an insane amount of questions about the lore of Stranger Things,” so that’s promising as well.

Hopefully Netflix’s upcoming TUDUM event will provide us with even more answers, especially when it comes to the exact dates thatStranger ThingsSeason 5 will finally air. A trailer would be nice, too, but at this point, we’ll take any nuggets of information we can get. As we await more news, you can stream the first four seasons ofStranger Thingsnow, and based on the way things are going, you probably have time to binge them all before Season 5 is eventually released.
