Worlds are soon colliding on Netflix with the reveal thatChilling Adventures of Sabrinais bringing in two of the stars of the originalSabrina the Teenage WitchTV series adaptation. Developed for television by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa,Chilling Adventures of Sabrinais a fresh take on the source material that previously had no connections to the original ABC series. That all changes as seen in a sneak peek video of Netflix show’s fourth and final season, revealing theoriginalSpellman aunties meeting thenewSabrina.

In the clip, we can seeSabrina, the Teenage Witchstars Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick both reprising their old roles as the original Hilda and Zelda Spellman. Somehow, the twoSabrinauniverses have started to merge, breaking the fourth wall as Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) even takes notice of an audible laugh track. Amidst utter confusion, Sabrina asks Hilda and Zelda to introduce themselves, only to learn that they’re an alternate version of her aunties. It would appear the teenage witch has found herself in some time paradox.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrinaantagonist Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle) is also featured in the clip, assuming the role of the “director” of the sitcom world Sabrina has found herself thrust into. He seems to be much more familiar with the bizarre situation that’s unfolding, assuring Sabrina that she’ll catch on quickly to what’s happening. Time will tell if this means Blackwood is in control of the situation or if he’s just as much trapped in the paradox as Sabrina. In any case, fans of the franchise are very intrigued.

Created by Nell Scovell,Sabrina the Teenage Witchpremiered on ABC in 1996, ultimately running for seven seasons and spawning a handful of TV movies.Melissa Joan Hartled the series as Sabrina Spellman, a teenager living with her 600-year-old witch aunts (Rhea and Broderick). The sitcom is also memorable for featuring Salem as a talking cat, voiced by Nick Bakay. As of now, there’s no indication that either Hart or the talking Salem will also appear in the upcoming crossover, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Debuting on Netflix in 2018,Chilling Adventures of Sabrinaquickly managed to find its own audience with viewers, even with a drastically different tone that’s much, much darker than the comedy series. Like the other TV series, the newSabrinaincludesHilda and Zelda, this time played by Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto.
