He may not be returning toStar Wars(yet), but it looks like the Force is bringing togetherOscar IsaacandRogue Onedirector/Andorcreator Tony Gilroy. The actor is reportedly set to star in Gilroy’s next feature film, a drama about a cello player — though there is very little known about the movie beyond that. If true, it would mark the first time the duo have worked together. But given the talent involved, we could absolutely see it not being the last time these two talented storytellers unite in creative collaboration.

Per the folks over atComingSoon.net, the film is only in the script stage, with details being kept under wraps (because of course they are; this is Hollywood, baby!). There are, reportedly, several interested studio players involved in negotiations to grab the distribution and/or production rights to the film, currently titledBehemoth. Beyond that, your best guess is as good as ours as far as what will happen. Stay tuned, though: given the Isaac and Gilroy of it all, this shan’t be the last thing we hear about this one.

Oscar Isaac Is Truly Doing The Most Right Now (Which Is A Great Thing For Us All)

For people who are fans of good faces and talented actors, Oscar Isaac’s upcoming slate of projects in various stages of pre- and post-production is a veritable smorgasbord, and we are allTempleton at the fair. At the top of this truly eclectic mix is Guillermo del Toro’s forthcoming take on Mary Shelley’sFrankenstein, withIsaac playing Dr. Victor Frankensteinto Jacob Elordi’s Monster (Christoph Waltz and Mia Goth also star). That film in currently in post-production (as evidenced by the photos from it seen above), and will reportedly be released later this year.

But that’s not all the actor has going on: he’s also slated to star in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’sMetal Gear Solidmovie, a cinematic adaptation of the popular Hideo Kojima video game. Elsewhere in the land of pre-production are his roles in Ben Stiller’s forthcoming directorial effort,London, based on a short story by Jo Nesbø, andFlesh of the Gods, the Panos Cosmatos film co-starring Kristen Stewart. (Cosmatos is best known for the Nicolas Cage starrer,Mandy.) We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mentionBananas, the David O. Russell-directed series Oscar is set to lead alongside Ana de Armas, also in pre-production at the moment.

We’d also be lying if we didn’t say we weren’t most excited about his turn inSeason 2 ofBeef. The Ali Wong and Steven Yeun-starring first season was an incredible watch, resulting in Emmy Awards and what was originally a limited series turning into an anthology instead. According to previous reporting, the as-yet-unconfirmed second season would follow two feuding couples — Carey Mulligan and Isaac would play one, with Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton slated to portray the other. There is no word on other plot details beyond this, though fingers crossed Netflix will remedy that very soon.

As for Gilroy? Well, the new season ofAndoris just around the corner! Anyone else excited for more of that?
