Halloween KillsandHalloween Endsare getting some help from the horror master, as John Carpenter has personally confirmed he will return to score the soundtrack for both movies. Now, Carpenter has revealed he’s on board to compose new music as well....

Star Wars 9is currently filming in England and some new set pictures from the Black Park location have leaked online. These new pictures are reportedly from the second set and they feature a jungle area with tall trees and vines. The first set on this location was shown last month when pictures of the Millennium Falcon leaked, in the same location. Pinewood Studios sources have revealed thatStar Wars 9was going to film some jungle scenes in Laos, but that idea may have been scrapped to stay in England....

Marvel Studios and DC Films are both looking to hire Black directors for anticipated movie projects, the former forSupermanand the latter forBlade. In a new story recently published by The Hollywood Reporter, new details about DC’s plannedSupermanreboot were revealed, such as the commitment from DC and Warner Bros. to hire a Black director to tackle the “first cinematic incarnation of Superman featuring a Black actor.” While J. J. Abrams is producing theSuperman Reboot, word is he will not even be considered to take a seat in the director’s chair....

Sony Pictures Animation is celebrating Pets Day with a free-to-watch animated short set in theHotel Transylvaniauniverse. DubbedMonster Pets: A Hotel Transylvania Short Film, the mini-movie is executive produced by franchise creator Genndy Tartakovsky and Michelle Murdocca. Christian Roedel produced the short, and Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon direct with a story written by Kluska. you may watch it below. “What would it be like if theDrac Packall owned pets? Disney+ has revealed the first look at their upcomingMonsters, Inc.spin-off series. The new show is titled Monsters at Work and we have been introduced to a new character named Tylor Tuskmon, who is voiced by Ben Feldman. It was reported earlier this year that John Goodman and Billy Crystal are coming back to reprise their roles as Sulley and Mike, respectively. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the series and we finally have some new information to share....

Faith-based films have become a new way of framing the components tied to traditional Christian values and beliefs. The fact thatmoviegoers expect something massivefrom the highly anticipated sequel toThe Passion of the Christis only slightly indicative of how big of an audience there is for these films. They do incredibly well (the firstGod’s Not Deadmade 30 times its budget at the box office alone) and have inspired their own streaming platform, PureFlix, and yet remain critically reviled (the same film has a 12% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and hardly any modern Christian films break 30%)....

Six years afterThe Academy Awardsexpanded the Best Picture category up to a possible 10 nominees,The Hollywood Reporterreveals that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is considering a move back to just five Best Picture nominees. While nothing is set in stone yet, the site reports that “a significant fraction” of the 6,000-member Academy are pushing for the move. An official proposal for the shift has not been issued yet, but it could be brought up during the Academy’s next governor’s meeting on March 24....
