A few weeks back, we passed along the sad news that the powers that be over at Warner Bros. put the kibosh on James Wan and DC Universe’s new Swamp Thing series starring Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, and Derek Mears after only a single episode had aired. Since the surprising news, Wan himself has kept mostly silent on the matter. But that all changed yesterday as Wan took to Instagram to finally comment on the show’s cancelation saying that he really doesn’t know or understand why the show was canceled, but that the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into it and he’s really proud of everyone’s hard work....

Indie movies differfrom mainstream blockbusters that populate our local theaters in that they often rely on far smaller budgets secured through small production companies and private investors. While many may argue as to which art form is better,both mainstream blockbusters and smaller indies have their merits. Indie movies may lack the spectacular special effects ofMarvelor theFast and Furiousfranchise. Still, there is potentially greater scope in independent movies to focus on appealing to a more niche audience through more left-field subjects and creative storytelling....
