After the enormous success ofBreaking BadandBetter Call Saul,Giancarlo Espisitoreturns to the AMC screen withParish, a crime thriller that will premiere next year on the network and on its streaming platform, AMC+.
Esposito has created a long and successful career since his debut in 1979 in the filmRunning, and has appeared in major projects in both film and television. But there is no doubt that hisportrayal of Gus Fring in Breaking Badput him on the radar of many viewers, and will stand as one of his greatest roles. It is no surprise that AMC has now called upon the in-demand actor to lead one of their next original productions.

Parishfollows the story of a family man who has his own company and lives peacefully until his son is murdered, which will lead him to face the ghosts of his past and rediscover old habits. On Monday, the network released the first trailer for the series, which you can check out below along with the synopsis:
“A reimagining of the BBC One seriesThe Driver, this hour-long thriller series follows Gray Parish (Giancarlo Esposito) — a good man with a troubled past who gave up his life of crime for life as a family man. But when his son is violently murdered, old habits return, sending him on a relentless quest with moral intentions and dangerous consequences.”

Parishalso stars Zachary Momoh (Doctor Sleep), Paula Malcomson (Watchmen), Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Bonnie Mbuili (Invictus), Ivan Mbakop (Hawkeye), Arica Himmel (Black-ish), and Dax Rey (The Good Fight). Eduardo Canto and Ryan Maldonado serve as showrunners and executive producers, along with Giancarlo Esposito himself. The series will run for six episodes but, for now, it doesn’t have a release date.
