WhenCaptain America: Civil Warstarted production in Atlanta back in May,Marvelconfirmed its cast, including several we knew about, along with a few surprisign additions, such asAnt-ManstarPaul Ruddas Scott Lang, andWilliam Hurtreprising his role as General Thaddeus Ross from 2008’sThe Incredible Hulk. The surprise inclusion of General Ross led many fans to wondering ifMark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be a part of this massivesuperhero movie. The actor himself revealed in June thatRobert Downey Jr.told him personally that he does have a role inCaptain America: Civil War. That was never confirmed by the studio. Today, we have a new report from the German websiteBild, which reveals thatMark Ruffalowas spotted partying withCaptain America: Civil Warco-starsChris Evans,Anthony MackieandDaniel Brühlin Berlin after hours.

Production onCaptain America: Civil Warrecently shifted from Atlanta to Berlin, andMark Ruffalo’s presence in the city alongside confirmedCaptain America: Civil Warstars certainly lends credence to rumors that he does have a role in the movie. Then again, the actor could just be in Berlin for unrelated reasons, and wanted to spend time with the actors off set, but we don’t know for sure. At this point in the production, it seems unlikely thatMarvelwould confirmMark Ruffalo’s appearance, but we’ll have to wait and see. It isn’t known exactly how long production will take place in Berlin for, or where they are shooting, but if there are any outdoor shoots, it’s possible we could see the actor in upcoming photos from the set.

At the end ofAvengers: Age of Ultron, Hulk took off to parts unknown in a Quinjet, deeming himself too unsafe for his team. In the comic books, it was actuallyNick Fury, played bySamuel L. Jacksonin the MCU, who tricked Hulk by sending him into space, since Fury is the one who believes he is unsafe for Earth. This led into the beloved Planet Hulk story line. There have been plenty of rumors about a Planet Hulk movie in development, butMark Ruffaloexplained in June that a solo Hulk movie is still several years away, since Universal Pictures has distribution rights for the Hulk character, whileMarvelholds the production rights.

As for Hulk’s inclusion inCaptain America: Civil War, we’re not sure yet how he may fit into the story, but there have been rumors thatWilliam Hurt’s General Ross will turn into the Red Hulk, like he does in the comic books. It’s possible that Ross' transformation into the Red Hulk could give the Green Goliath a reason to end his self-imposed exile and help Earth’s Mightiest Heroes defeat this villain. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but if both Hulk and Red Hulk are featured in this superhero adventure, who will these characters side with? Captain America (Chris Evans) or Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.)?Captain America: Civil Wartakes place afterAvengers: Age of Ultron, where both Cap and Iron Man find themselves on opposite sides of the Sokovia Accords, a new initiative designed to make each superhero accountable for their destructive actions.

Mark Ruffalocurrently has four more movies left on hisMarvelcontract, two of which will likely beAvengers: Infinity War Part 1andAvengers: Infinity War Part 2, set for release in 2018 and 2019, respectively. If he does have more than just a cameo inCaptain America: Civil War, that will leave one more movie for the actor to appear in. It is believed that all of the originalAvengers' contracts may be set to expire afterAvengers: Infinity War Part 2, so perhaps we’ll get to see Hulk inCaptain America: Civil Warand anotherPhase Threemovie.
