‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Releases In Two Parts

WednesdaySeason 2 is one of Netflix’s most hotly anticipated releases of this year, along withthe final season ofStranger Things.Season 1 was an internet-breaking hit when it debuted in 2022. Fans became obsessed with Tim Burton’s long-awaited foray into television, and social media users and content creators fawned over Jenna Ortega’s iconic dance scene, albeit with a remixed song. Season 2 is expected to have a similar effect when it is released later this year.

But, the second season ofWednesdayis following Netflix’s frustrating release schedule.Season 2 has been split into two parts,both of which will be released later this year. Part 1 debuts on August 6. Fans will then have to wait just shy of a month for the second half of Season 2, which drops on September 3. The intention behind the split release schedule is to prolong the conversation surrounding the series online, and to maintain viewer attention for as long as possible. But, in a culture that has now become accustomed to the full binge release, thanks in large part to Netflix, many have become frustrated by split releases.

Following the twist ending to Season 1, Wednesday is back at Nevermore Academy for the second season, this time with the school undergoing a change in leadership and introducing some new students. The show’s co-creator and executive producer, Alfred Gough, describes the new season: “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore.”
