Robotsis an upcoming science fiction romantic comedy film written and directed by Anthony Hines and Casper Christensen and starring Jack Whitehall and Shailene Woodley. The film, based on Robert Sheckley’s novel “The Robot Who Looked Like Me,” will focus on the uniquelove story of two robotsthat explore the world while trying to avoid their human masters.

Robots: The Plot
Thefilm’s official trailerhas recently been released, and here’s how we perceive its story. The plot is set in an advanced era in which robots are used as servants and manual laborers for humans to help them accomplish even greater feats. Charles (Jack Whitehall) is a womanizer who sets a date with Elaine (Shailene Woodley) and instructs his lookalike robot to impress her. Although their date goes perfectly, after his robot runs away with his girlfriend, he finds that Elaine also sent her doppelganger robot with the same objective as Charles.

Apparently, after a few dates together, both robots began to develop feelings for each other. But, understanding they couldn’t stay together once their owners learned about them, they ran away. However, while fleeing these humans, the robots stole the identities of their human counterparts, and it is now up to the human versions of Charles and Elaine to work together and stop these robots before they cause any further havoc. Will they, however, be successful in their mission?
Although the trailer suggested nothing more than a popcorn movie for light amusement, it was full of whimsical moments. While the premise of robots falling in love and stealing the identities of their human counterparts is a unique concept in itself, the adventure of the humans in search of these robots seems to be a good backdrop for a few chuckles as well.
Robots: The Cast & Crew
Jack Whitehall leads the film as the male protagonist, who sends his robot doppelganger to impress his date. Given Whitehall’s history of attaining success through stand-up comedy roles,Robotsappears to be the ideal film for him to further exhibit his comedic talents.
