While we still haven’t seenKing Konghimself yet, new photos debuted last week, featuring starsTom Hiddleston,Brie LarsonandJohn Goodmanexploring a massive bone yard on the island, with an ape skull dwarfing the cast, which we get another look at through these motion posters that debuted onTwitter. DirectorJordan Vogt-Robertsteased that this will be the biggestKing Kongever seen on the big screen, at over 100 feet tall. He also confirmed that the story takes place in the 1970s, while revealing how this iconic island was discovered.

At the beginning of the 1970s, NASA launched a satellite program known as LANDSAT, where satellites would map out the entire world from space. When this unknown island is discovered through LANDSAT, an expedition is formed, includingTom Hiddleston’s character, a former SAS tracker andBrie Larson’s character, a war photographer. They are part of a diverse team of explorers brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific-as beautiful as it is treacherous-unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
