TheSolotrailer has been recut toSabotageby theBeastie Boysand it’s now a whole lot more awesome. TheHan Solomovie comes out in three months and, so far, we’ve seen just aSuper Bowlspot and a teaser trailer. We’re likely to get at least one more actual trailer from Disney and Lucasfilm before the movie arrives, but this isn’t the same kind of firebomb-style marketing we’re used to when it comes to a newStar Warsmovie. Now, a fan has taken it upon themselves to repurpose what footage we already have and make a much better trailer forSolo: A Star Wars Story, with the help of Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA.

This remix trailer comes to us courtesy of the folks from the War Starts at Midnight Podcast. They decided that a little something was missing from theSolo: A Star Wars Storytrailer we got. Or, to be more accurate, they thought the trailer looked a little more like anorigin storyfor James T. Kirk from another famous franchise involvingspace shenanigans. As such, they recut some of the footage used in both theSuper Bowlspot and the teaser trailer to make something infinitely more satisfying.

“Because the first trailer felt an awful lot like ‘Solo: A James Tiberius Kirk Story’”

Sabotagereally works here, but this is far from the first time we’ve seen something like this. Prior to the release ofRogue One: A Star Wars Story, someone compiled a lot of footage from various trailers for that movie and also laid it over the famed Beastie Boys track from their classic 1994 album, Ill Communication. That was inspired by the use of the track in theStar Trek Beyondtrailer, which was used in that trailer as an homage to what young Kirk was listening to in the first J.J. AbramsStar Trekmovie when he stole his stepfather’s car.

While thatRogue One trailerwas fun, this trailer honestly could have been something Disney and Lucasfilm actually released. It’s that good. Granted, popular, real-world songs aren’t really a part ofStar Warshistory, and it makes sense, given that this all happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. But still, this is enough to get even the most skeptical fans who want nothing to do with aHan Solomovie on board with the idea.

Solo: A Star Wars Storyarrives in theaters on May 25 and is (mostly) directed by Ron Howard. How much of it belongs to Phil Lord and Chris Miller remains a mystery, but it may be more than we think. Cam the movie actually be as good as this trailer makes it out to be? One can only hope.
